"Hoy en dia, la enorme popularidad del Taekwon-Do ha creado imitadores, y aunque a veces la imitacion sea la forma mas sincera de halago, en el caso del Taekwon-Do definitivamente no lo es. Imitar sin el completo conocimiento del original es peligroso. Es algo similar a dejar que un niño juegue con una pistola de juguete, luego darle un arma real y esperar que el niño entienda la diferencia sin darle el conocimiento sobre la funcion y el efecto de un revolver de verdad.
               En la mayoria de los casos de imitacion, el imitador simplemente copia al original sin cambio alguno. Generalmente, esto no causa ningun daño, siempre y cuando el que imita no cambia al original (en este caso el Taekwon-Do) con adicionales tecnicas, interpretaciones, filosofia, terminologia o sistemas y metodos sin probar.
               Cuando se le hacen cambios no autorizados al original arte del Taekwon-Do es cuando estos imitadores crean una influencia altamente peligrosa y abrasiva sobre el concepto del Taekwon-Do.
               Peligrosa, porque da a los estudiantes de los imitadores la sensacion de que han dominado tecnicas que son completamente infundadas en el conocimiento del verdadero arte marcial del Taekwon-Do.
               Peligrosa, porque un estudiante puede convertirse en maestro y sin saberlo impartir sus falsas tecnicas a otros, de este modo acrecienta el error del falso conocimiento. Esto llevaria a un desgaste de la confianza, a estudiantes serios, en el Taekwon-Do como un arte marcial comprobada.
               Recientemente ha surgido confusion sobre el uso de la terminologia "TAEKWON-DO, EL ARTE COREANO DE DEFENSA PROPIA", enfatizo la palabra Coreano."
