WPTV Hurricane Milton Update 11 p.m. Oct. 7, 2024

According to the 11 p.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Milton continues to rapidly intensify with maximum sustained winds of 165 mph, moving east at 9 mph.

I'm writing from Florida in Miltons path. We are prepared and not in a flood zone. U19, I75, and US 301 traffic bumper to bumper! I75 Over pass on US 48 in Bushnel traffic heading in the north lane was stopped completely at 4pm. US 19 and US 301 North completely clogged with cars fleeing out of Florida. Wal-Mart and most grocery stores are bare. Fortunately, it looks like most of Tampa and coastal communities are evacuated. Our Withlacoochee electric company is working on power lines from Hurricane Helene. Everyone is taking this storm very seriously. We will most likely be like North Carolina this week. God bless all you folks up there struggling to survive! We will get through this regardless of how little our government agencies care about us! ❤

I actually started crying when I heard it looks like it’s not as strong. I’m a caregiver so my husband with many medical issues. Thank you Jesus and continue to bless us with good news for all. 😔🙏🏼❤️
