I like how they took the statue down with care and respecting the history before it.

When you’re a company operating heavy machinery, and you’re hired to do a job, you don’t just demolish it. You take it down properly

Love how they preserved the statue and didn't just demolish it.

That statue was most likely erected to remember Ukrainian Soviet soldiers who served in WW2

Wow so respectful of them to put down a symbol for the Ukrainians who died for their country during ww2

Hopefully they put it in a museum and preserve the history regardless of how people feel about it because it should be remembered

That was the most respectful way to take down a monument I've ever seen

At least they still had respect for the history before it- instead of absolutely destroying the statue

Американцы пишут о том как уважительно они её снесли. Но их прадеды воевали за их страну как и в других республиках СССР. Сам факт того что они сносят статую это неуважение к подвигу своих прадедов и прабабушек

It does not symbolise friendship between russia and ukraine, it is a monument to the liberation of the USSR territory from the Wehrmacht. Both Ukrainians and Russians liberated the territory of the USSR. The demolition of this monument is a spit in the face of our own Ukrainian ancestors, who gave their lives for freedom.

Fellow Americans, that’s how you remove a statue like civilized people.

This is the equivalent of unfriending someone on Facebook

That man looked so disappointed that he had to take it down. He was so respectful even just bringing it down, he was gentle, he didn’t want it to break. And then you see the hurt in his eyes. None of this had to happen between their 2 countries.

I feel heartbroken of how he looked at the statue.

This is the politest "that's it, we're not friends anymore. But I'm gonna be sad about it" I've ever seen.

The fact that they took such care while taking it down and not just smashing it against the ground really shows respect.

Убирать памятники только потому что у русских и украинцев одна история? Даже если сейчас есть ненависть нельзя забывать за что погибли наши прадеды. И память о них нужно уважать.
