With the Russian invasion well into its second year, people in Ukrainian cities like Lviv are dismantling monuments honoring the friendship between Russia and Ukraine. In Lviv, crews took down a World War II-era statue with the help of a crane.

That statue was most likely erected to remember Ukrainian Soviet soldiers who served in WW2

It does not symbolise friendship between russia and ukraine, it is a monument to the liberation of the USSR territory from the Wehrmacht. Both Ukrainians and Russians liberated the territory of the USSR. The demolition of this monument is a spit in the face of our own Ukrainian ancestors, who gave their lives for freedom.

Soviet doesn't just mean Russia the Soviet union was massive
