Baldur's Gate 3 - Choosing Lae'zel at the Party - Companion Reactions

Decided to run an experiment during my first Dark Urge playthrough and found out companions won't thirst after your character if you pick someone to spend the evening with first. It was hard to hold off on starting the Lae'zel fling early but it seems like it paid off with interesting dialogue.

Usually in other games I talk with everyone else BEFORE speaking with my intended romance but doing it the other way around keeps them from being too sad when you reject them.

Gale's more understanding (though later he still thinks there was a budding romance with my drow), Shadowheart, despite her rivalry with Lae'zel, offers a drink to help you out, and Karlach gracefully takes rejection like a boss. Wyll and Astarion don't have any unique dialogue regarding my character's choice.

How do you get that dialogue with Gale? I mean, in two play throughs i always had the one with the drunk half confession. What do you need to get this? 😂
