For those curious, as a Marine, I met some SAS guys and Royal Marines about 20 years ago in a land far far away. Unless things have changed, theres really no comparison. SAS and the Royal Marines/ commandos are more specialized and highly trained than a standard US Marine. I think SAS are more comparable to the Seals while commando units would be like our Force reconnosance. US Marines would fall somewhere in between your standard Army soldier and special forces. SAS size is pretty small compared to US Marines at 200, 000. Which is less than half the size of our army.

Fun fact: Normal US marines are not special forces, Raiders and RECON are, so this was a match-up between normal soldiers and elites.

Haven’t watched it through yet. But I will say, SAS and Marines aren’t the same level. A better comparison would be SAS vs Seals or Special Forces.
