Why Ethernet is ALWAYS better than WiFi

If you're a serious gamer or want the most speed from your internet connection. Use a cable. This is why.

In our test we're using a Virgin Voom Business connection (350Mbps). If you have a speedy broadband link, watch this.

I'm an IT graduate and school didn't taught this. Thank you very much! This helps a lot for my online gaming experience.

Damn I already wondered why I got an ethernet cable with my laptop but now I know why lol.

Properly configured Wi-Fi 6 set to an interference-free 5 GHz channel can get you 400 mbps no problem with 4 antennas, maybe even 3. Same latency, zero dropped packets. Of course Ethernet is easier and cheaper and guaranteed to deliver, but if you can't get it, don't think Wi-Fi is automatically going to be worse.

Question will being hooked up to Ethernet improve my response to my security cameras ?

Strange. I've just plugged the cable in and there's no difference at all. I've run the speed test a few times on 3 different websites and the only difference is uploading speed which is slightly higher when I'm connected to the ethernet.

I'm not sure 300mbit more will make any difference to your gaming experience. Latency and packet loss far more important.

Did you change the channel width size in your router settings to 40MHz?

Would Connecting my router to my laptop through a lan cable instead of connecting through wifi help with ping spikes?

we knew this back when dual band came out and what are you gonna do with all that speed on a shitty laptop??

Connected to ethernet, my speed goes way up, from 164 mbps to 374 mbps. My download speed goes from 136 mbps to 97 mbps though. My upload speed goes from 22 mbps to 24 mbps. How is this?

People are encouraged to use wifi because you need to buy new modems all the time and it costs more. It's the counterproductive use of energy use twice as much energy to push a signal, than get less than half the speed. Most devices are built without the capability to use Ethernet to ensure wasted energy. You're computer or device has a device within it that uses energy to capture a signal. Than consider the limit of resources and plastic pollution. These companies encourage waste but it will be our great grandchildren picking plastic out of the ocean, and cleaning the environment that will be the necessary labour force, the production of food will slow dramatically as people will be forced to deal with the dilemma they'll pick an old wifi router out of the ground and think what primitive stupid creatures we were.

Video is kind of misleading.
Speed is speed, it has nothing much to do with games other than downloading them.
What a gamer want is lower ping, I'd be much more interested to see a video about that.

"Always better than wifi" Yeah of course if you use the laptops shitty default network card. Get something like Asus AC68 and you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between ethernet and wireless. Also for gaming, ping is significantly more important than wether your download speed is 130 or 420. Should of used speedtest like everyone else to show the difference in ping aswell as upload. Video should instead be labeled "Why Ethernet is ALWAYS better than cheap WiFi".
