What are some of your most used plugins for mixing bass?

I find as a bass player that mixing low end is quite intuitive - for me its trying to get the high end sounding good! It either sounds too fluffy like cotton candy or suddenly too tinny and starts tearing my head off

Low end is one of the last things that gets understood. Usually there's no low end, then too much of it, then we figure it out.

If you really wanna be meticulous, you just need to find the perfect sub 808 sample for each note of the low end scale and boom, you have the perfect low end. Low end is often felt more than heard so you can use the same 808s often and still have entirely different songs 💯

What time constants do you use for the low end multiband? Or for the SSL comp on the bass bus? (where the mults tun together, like the full signal lowpassed, and the sansamp distorted signal)

I agree, low end is generally not seen as "important" I think it's become more so in recent years, I'm talking about Indie and Rock mainly.
