Treachery is the Sith way. Palpatine betrays Count Dooku aboard the Invisible Hand above Coruscant in Revenge of The Sith. Darth Vader betrays and murders Palpatine, since he sacrificed his life to save Luke from his evil master and dies, after Luke takes off his mask and look into his son's eyes. This is the first and last time that Anakin look into Luke's eyes.

When he kills Plagueis, he blames him for manipulating into killing his family. And some illustration (official or not) suggests Palpatine was shocked by his own actions. But that's kind of contradictive.

Somehow after hearing more about each Sith Lord and about how they turned to the dark side...kinda makes them seem less like a bad person and more like a victim of circumstances or just having a horrible past. Also i would love to some day see a movie on Palpatine's past and how he became a Sith.
