I’ve got the 880 touch machine. It’s fantastic. Replaced the grinder gear and she’s good for another two years. I know a 1000 machine is cheap when it comes to espresso machines. But Breville makes a great coffee machine.

I purchased this machine a few months ago, it’s been great. Pulling shots easily better than buying coffee out at cafes, just have to make sure you’re dialing in your grind size for your beans and it’s excellent. The auto dose and tamp function is great makes quick consistent espresso. Only fault is the steam wand takes a little long to get the milk up to temp.

My problem with it is the auto tamper. It seems like it is just another thing to break on an expensive piece of equipment. I'd be interested in seeing how that works, all the little parts(potential points of failure), and if it not working would interfere with anything. Usually the more complex things are the harder they are to clean and maintain.

I'm in 2 minds about this or the barista express.
I want to learn as I go also and don't want too many things done for me. Only thing I'm worried about is the pressure. 9 bars on the impress is perfect
