So good job! But please never make adjustments to you sliding sled and materials while the blade is running. One mishap and, your hand, workpiece or clamp was flying in pieces around you… ⚠️

some information as to the nature of the wood, glue used and finish used. Epoxy, oil, varnish, wax? what?

Is it food safe? I guess the original one was glued

I don't understand why you did what you did, how was inserting thin slices of wood repairing it? Looks good though, reminds me of a brick wall. :)
