I was asked to fix a cracked cutting board. I wasn't sure if it was possible due to it being oiled and the glue potentially not holding. But I wanted to see if it was possible.

I cant believe you put a seam in that beautiful board. I would have worked that crack out and filled it...

If you're unsure about the board staying together with the penetrating oil, would domino/dowels help?

Climb cut on the chamfer usually yields cleaner result. Try it and let me know. :)

What about hitting a small crack with superglue

Use a wire brush lightly and that gunk comes right off.. no need to turn it on, just the wire brush…

How do you justify etching your name in a board you didnt create?!?

So many mistakes. Cutting the whole board for a short (2.5") crack less than a 1/16" wide that could have been filled with a replacement piece of wood or epoxy or even just wood glue. Nut using dowels or biscuits when rejoining the cut board pieces to add sheer strength -- but maybe the glue is adequate. Not taping close to the edge to prevent glue spreading into adjacent grains. Not using a flat support under the board when clamping to ensure even alignment -- covered with wax paper to prevent glue adhesion.
