If you want some inspiration and possibly tutorials on paint and led circuits I would suggest to look at cosplayers. There are some great people who talk you through how to make the thing wearable, how to paint stuff, electronics, where to hide the battery, all sorts of shenanigans. Good luck on your project! 😉

This is so cool! I love seeing how people decorate their prosthesis and disability aids. It's not nearly on the same level, but I'm going to get a cover for my hearing aid and paint it to look like one of my favorite robot characters. I had a cool hearing aid as a kid, and then as an adult they were like 'so you want hair or skin color, right?'

I am all over the glow-in-the-dark paint!
The LED's? I guess it depends on the implementation. A soft glow from behind like people used to put under their cars would be very cool. PC RGB displays flashing and crawling around everywhere? Eh, not so much.
Just my opinion, though. Looking forward to see what you come up with.
