Cat prosthetic leg

What is the point of this? Cats manage very well with three legs without needing a prosthetic.

I think in this case the cat's going to have an easier time getting around without it.
How is this cat going to jump? Or loaf? Or stretch? Or lay down? This is just not in the cat's best interest this time.
