Out at the beach you can find some really unique creatures. Today we're heading out of the woods and out to the beach in search of an alien looking crustacean... The Atlantic Mole Crab!! Only question is, can I catch it?

Omg. I remember when I was in South Carolina, I was probably 8 or 9, and I put my hand in the wet sand like you to play and felt so much crawling. I didn't get anywhere near the water for the rest of the trip!

I recently visited Mrytle Beach and as I was sitting on the sand, digging and sea shell hunting. I saw one of these guys burrowing into the sand. Freaked me out. I wanted to know what they are called. Thanks for the info.

When i was a kid i used to catch sand crabs and large ghost crabs. I haven't been to the beach in years.

We always call these sand fleas and they're great bait for fishing :) I live up the coast about an hour from Wilmington.
