Thanks Pawel. I fly INAV Wings for a while and like it a lot. Last week I converted my old Tyro79 3" quad to INAV (Matek GPS and 722-miniSE and two cam's: Caddx Baby Ratel and Caddx Ant). Fast 4 minutes flying on a 4S850 and also a 18 minutes cruise on a 3S3000 18650. I agree with your 3 points. RTH and Position Hold works very good for me. I also started to appreciate the Altitude Hold function in Acro mode when travelling some distance. Enough reasons to convert more "flying items" to INAV. Thanks again.

4. Amazing OSD
5. OpenHD support
6. Better reliability for long range flights
7. Huge community to support in issues that might occur

Just put inav on my thicc last night, going to test it today. Waiting for my gps to come, but excited to get it tuned and ready for the gps! Thanks for your work and videos!

Right now only the second option is 100% true.
1. iNav will have a worse propwash handling due to worst filters, PID, etc. So while you can still go "flippity floppy" around trees with iNav, it would definitely be a lot worse than Betaflight.
3. Betaflight now has a return to home feature, it is not nearly as good as iNav, but can get the job done.
In the end it will come up to what you want to do. If you're more into manual flying, hitting gaps, flying close to objects, etc. definitely go for Betaflight, if you're more into autonomous flying high up in the air definitely go for iNav. iNav should be kinda an intermediate, between DJI and Betaflight

Thanks for explaining “why-NAV” sorry - the thought made me giggle so I had to share 🤓

People are stupid, Pawel. They fight over everything... Visual Basic vs Delphi, Linux vs Windows, and so on... 🙄
I do remember Betaflight vs Butterflight as well... Once I commented something, I don't even remember what, and the war began... 🙄
Those are just tools. Use them the way you finds best and that's it.
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

After switching to inav, the first time when i started in acro but then parked in the air "few meters" away and took off googles - i was like "WTF, i flew THAT FAR? I barely see this copter". It was really confusing and teaching in the same time. We underestimate how fast and far away we fly in FPV, until we can see our machine in LOS in a classic way and then try to bring it back to home. Soo, yeah, inav is sometimes confusing but it's also great bridge between FPV world and 'regular' drones world. Enables you to fly agressive cruising and then just switch to automatic hover.

Love inav! Could you do a video on tuning for smooth waypoints transitions? Thx

Thanks for this. I have an older APM2.8-based quad and I recently built a new "FPV" drone, and the only option everyone was talking about was "Betaflight" which, in my opinion, SEVERELY lacks some of these features like loiter, Altitude hold, and ease of configuring a simple soft landing. They say these are against the "philosophy" of Betaflight, which is merely laughable. If iNAV can do acro and still can have loiter and altitude hold features when you want to use it, I am going to try iNav.

Thanks Pawel, love all your work on and around Inav. Is there a way i can get some quick help. Been struggling for two weeks and just cant get a 5.5 inch quad to fly on inav. perfect on BF, but with inav it just wants to fly away and flip out the whole time. Have over 5 years experience building my own FPV drones and just cant figure this one out. Build is Radix 2 HD, Rush Extreme 60amp F4 ESC, xing 2208 1800 kv motors, 6s 1200 mah lipos, DJI O3, Crossfire and a BN-880 M8 GPS with Compass on a AOS v2 5.5 Inch Frame. FC is installed 180 degrees on the yaw, set in config. Did the Acc calibration as mentioned in GUI with the boards alignment, not the quad. GPS is installed 90 degrees Flip and points north correctly. No funny angles. Props rotate inwards. ESC is installed 180 degrees on Yaw, but I rewired the harness and didn't use the mixer wizard. Running Dshot 300 or 600 same behaviour. It doesn't get more simple than this I mean but somewhere something isn't right. receiver setup is right, 1000 - 2000. 1500 steady midpoints. The correct motors spin in the right directions. What I notice is that, when I arm the quad (using pre-arm as well), it spins at idle, giving yaw, roll or pitch inputs does nothing, but the moment i throttle up, it goes nuts and shoots for the moon. i loaded the 5 inch preset. Quads total flying weight is 630 grams. using 5535 HQ props. Mixer tabs shows motor outputs as S1 - S4. I'm at a loss. I'm desperate to get this working and know its something stupid as the quad flies perfect on BF defaults. I've followed your setup videos about 3 times over and can't see where i've gone wrong. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 🤓

There is not a ton of videos out there regarding the pros / cons / differences between inav, kiss, and betaflight. It seems like any flight controller operating system could be tuned to fly the same way but the features are the difference?

Hello pawel.
I'm using inav now. Back in betaflight i did some remaping to my fc to add external barometer in cli. And it worked great. Is there a way to remaping the pins again in inav?
I want to take advantage of position hold in inav.

Safehome which just saved me a quad is another good reason

I don't see a target for my Board (HAKRCF722) does this mean I can't use it or is there a standard target I can try?

Hi Pawel, I am building a quad for my Dad... a Cinewhoop to be specific and I really like to know if the specifications in the description are the same quad you are flying in this video or you are using other components in order to install INAV. Also I notice that quad is a 5 inch not a 7 inch and that is the reason I ask too. Thank you for all your videos, they really help me! :-)

Seems like a good firmware for beginners if they can just hit a switch and position hold in the air like a Mavic can do.

1.How to activate the barometer iflight nazgul analog, I dont see on Betaflight? CLI....?

Those are the key points why my main quads are on Inav
