Near Death Experiences and End-of-Life Visions

In this 2018 panel discussion, three remarkable women discuss Near Death Experiences and End-of-Life Visions. The panelists are (L to R): Kate Blaker, who had a Near Death Experience at age 25; Jo Lynne, an artist with a unique gift of seeing angels and other visions; and Erin Conklin, hospice and palliative care nurse. The panel was moderated by Gail Rubin, death educator and coordinator of the Before I Die New Mexico Festival.

The Before I Die NM Festival fosters reflection about how we address death and dying. By providing space and opportunities to openly discuss end-of-life issues, we can improve the number of those who plan ahead and take actions to address our mortality. These actions can reduce stress and conflict, save money, and help grieving individuals better navigate the mourning process.

The six-day Festival offered activities to get us thinking about, talking about and doing something about our 100% mortality rate. Events took place October 30 to November 4, 2018, at multiple locations in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Belen.

My mom used to rescue cats her whole life and a few days before she passed she told me she was seeing 2 cats in her room. I didnt know what to say to her so I just listened to her. I found out afterwards that it's very common for people who are dying to see thier pets or relatives who have passed before them. My mom also had a near death experience when she was in her 20s and she said she came out of her body and was looking down at herself and then she went through a tunnel and at the end was a light and when she got to the light she ended up in the most beautiful place ever and she felt at peace and didnt want to leave but then she heard a voice say "it's not your time yet you must go back" and then she woke up back in her body. I wish she was here to tell these stories herself but I will try and tell them for her to get the word out that their is more to life then this world..

I have absolutely no fear of dying because I know that I know where I'm going! Of course, no one wants to go through any pain associated with death, but I am no longer afraid of eternity. I can't wait to be with Jesus and my loved ones.

Can I tell you something I experienced, my friends? I wasn't there when my dad died, but he'd been ill for a long time and I was praying for him like crazy. My brother phoned me and said "Dad just died" and I tested my head back and closed my eyes, and then I could see him realer than real, laughing with joy and relief, and then he started to get younger, I saw him go slowly back in age, through the age when I was little, until I finally saw him get to that thin, lanky teenager age, and then he went away, still bursting with joy. I look forward to death now xxx

I became interested in the NDEs many years ago as a young nurse....I read a book by Elizabeth Kublar Ross....a fascinating woman...I think she was Dutch..but she was one of the founders of the Hospice movement and I did some volunteer work ...Hospice was, at that time, a strictly volunteer program...I’ve not experienced a NDE myself but I distinctly heard my mother, on her deathbed, talking with her deceased family....asking about her little brother, who’d died as a young man and had a rather tragic life....she kept asking specifically if he was ok....and then she seemed as if she got an answer because she stopped asking. She passed soon after...an angel on earth and now an angel with God.

Thanks for a great presentation from different experiencers. I have been involved in the field of death for decades and met Elizabeth K. Ross at a Neurological Institute where I worked back in the 1970s. Just ordered the recommended book by Dr David Kessler. Thanks for that reference, and keep up the good work. More people need to know this information to relieve the fear of death which can be a large drawback to truly living one's life without fear.

From much of the testimony i've heard of NDE, s, and from my very basic understanding of the philosophical implications of quantum theory and my explorations into meditation (particularly using specific frequencies) i believe that in death, we relinquish our physical bodies, with which we are to act as conduits for energy; power stations with which to learn and evolve, to transform energy from bad to good; from negative to positive before becoming, once again dispersed into the vibration and light of the universe.
I'm definitely okay with that.
