'I Died:' Women Share What Their Near-Death Experiences Were Like

New York Times Best-Selling Author Betty J. Eadie and near-death experience survivor Jessie Sawyer detail their spiritual experiences after they both say they died while undergoing surgeries. Both women said they left their bodies and entered another realm and while their experiences differ, there are some similarities: they were both at extreme peace, remember seeing how the lives of their close family members would pan out without them and both said they reluctantly came back to their bodies. #InsideEdition

My 21 daughter passed away 3 weeks ago. I miss her so much and it's just killing me inside. She was my everything. Her name was amanda . I can't stop crying.

I worked in a nursing home. During the pandemic we had a resident declining fast. She got to the point that she was basically unresponsive. Her family was at her bedside crying, she opened her eyes and told them “don’t cry, it’s so beautiful here” and passed away.
Still gives me chills thinking about it.

I had a near-death experience in my thirties. I nearly drowned, and let me tell the reader, it was the most beautiful experience of my life. There was a white light that consumed me. I was one with the light, and it was so comforting. I felt an unconditional love that could not be expressed. I felt no judgment, just love. It was like going home and being where I belonged. There is nothing to fear my friends.

My mom was always terrified of dying. In her elder years, her heart began to fail. She was hospitalized a few times. The last time, she said to me with surprise, "I'm going to die!" I said, "Yes, your body will die, but YOU will be alive. You'll be with your parents again and your loved ones. It will be so beautiful there." I knew she wanted to believe, but she was still afraid. After her last hospital stay, she was taken home and died shortly after. I went to the funeral home the next day and was asked if I would like to be alone with my Mom for a few minutes. I went in and she was laying there peacefully, dressed in white. I leaned over and kissed her on the forehead. As I did, I felt an intense joy coming from her and heard the words, "You were right!" I'm thankful to have had this experience. I have faith in God and Jesus Christ, and I'm looking forward to the day when my time comes to leave this earth and join my family.

I nearly died of cardiac arrest due to an overdose on fentanyl. All I saw was pitch black and the voice of my mom slowly fading. If you guys have seen “Get out” then it felt like the sunken place. I swear I was just floating in this dark abyss and heard my Moms voice far away but yelling for me to come back. It was only until they got the Narcan that I was awoken to my moms voice literally right next to my ear, the paramedics and firefighters were everywhere and I was gasping for air and hyperventilating. I was given a 2nd chance and thank God I’m alive.

It's like the Holy Spirit telling me to hang in there and that life is gonna be okay. It's a struggle but knowing what life has to offer, based from these stories give me hope.

I was in the room when my best friends mom was taken off life support. She was declared brain dead and after they turned the machines off, her heart would stop and then start again like 10 minutes later. And this happened for a good 30 minutes. My friend started crying and put her hand on her moms shoulder, and told her “it’s okay mom, go home. I love you” and her mom had tears roll down her face after that and then flatlined for the last time! It was such a surreal moment! Her mom was literally her last family member and they were BEST friends. I truly feel her mom wasn’t ready to leave her daughter alone. I cried the entire time..

When she took her last breath, I swear she had a faint smile on her face. I like to think my dad met her on the other side. I miss them both terribly every day.

I had a friend who died from a car accident. He was rescued and was in a coma for a bit. When he woke up he did not recognize anyone.. not even his mother, but all his could say was that he met God and spoke to deceased loved ones. It always stuck with me. My faith grew stronger after that day.

My brother passed of an overdose 9 months ago after a lifelong battle with drugs. As he was laying in the ER slowly dying, clinically brain dead, I stood and watched him helplessly, and suddenly felt a gentle caressing on my cheek and shoulder. Somehow I felt comforted and to this day I believe it was his spirit, that it had exited his body and he was comforting me. Since then I have received many signs of his presence, and when I die I believe I will see him again. <3
