Friends With Benefits (FWB) situation with an ex is a sticky situation. Let's be honest why are you actually doing it? I'm assuming you're here because you found yourself caught up in a FWB? right?

Let's first look at what your reasons are for being in a friends with benefits situation with your ex.

Are you sleeping with your ex as a back door attempt to get your ex back?
Or is it because you genuinely enjoy physical intimacy without attaching any sort of outcome to it?

Let's get real here. There is a worry that things can just end up with FWB and nothing more.
There is always that risk
But I presume you dont want to settle for being just FWB with your ex right?

You want something more. Let's be clear here we're not advocating on whether you should or shouldnt be sleeping with your ex. We're just here to tell you what your best chances are of getting back together.

That is to establish your boundaries and to be true to what it is that you want.

If you're not being true about your intentions behind sleeping with your ex, then you're in for a lot of pain down the line.

One major mistake a lot of people make is to equate sleeping together with intimacy.

Sleeping together is just sleeping together and as long as you're both on the same page-- then things are fine.

But if one of you expects the act to mean something, basically not be on the same page then its going to cause a lot of heartache.

Elliot. How do you turn a situation where you have been FWB for an extended period of time with someone that you been a long term relationship with into a relationship again. My ex broke up with me 7 weeks ago. I love him and miss him more than anything.
recently, i met up with him and we slept together. I was also drunk and agreed to a fwb relationship…I did this because I’m trying to get him to actually be willing to see me. I simply just want to spend more time with him and rebuild the emotional connection.

I’m having a lot of regrets now. I don’t want to let him use me and I don’t want him to have access to my body without commitment. So how do I keep him in my life, if his main motivation to see me is sex?
