What makes a burger even better? Butter! Chef Matthew Grunwald shows you how to make the most spectacular, mouth-watering butter burger in just a few steps with just a few ingredients... did we mention the butter?? Full instructions below:

1) Cut a portion of 1 Yellow Onion into a thin shaving
2) Use Fresh Ground Beef at an 80/20 percent meat to fat ratio
3) Season with Kosher Salt & Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
4) Form meat into 6 oz patties about 1/8 inch thick
5) Add 2 Tbsp of Unsalted Butter to a non-stick pan
6) Add Brioche Egg Bun halves to pan
7) Add an additional 1 Tsp of Butter to the top of the Buns
8) Grill each side of the Buns for 30-45 seconds
9) Add 1 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to cast iron skillet
10) Add Patty when skillet begins to shimmer and smoke slightly
11) Season with Freshly Cracked Black Pepper & Kosher Salt
12) Cook Burger 3-4 minutes on each side
13) Add 1 Tbsp Butter to the top of the Burger
14) Place a 2nd pan on top of the skillet for another 3-4 minutes
15) Add sliced onions & 2 slices of Yellow American Cheese on top
16) Cover with second pan again for 30 seconds
17) Spread 1 Tsp Butter on each side of the Grilled Buns

So far you're the only person Ive ever seen to not cook the onions ? Fortunately my Grandmother taught me how to tweek recipes to my liking.
If you love raw onions then so be it 😊

Everything was done wrong except the 80 20 for the beef. You one don't season the beef untill it's a patty 2 dry toast or don't toast the buns 3 you add the butter to the top part of the bun. You can add cheese or onion even pickles and tomatoes but never lettuce and you would have a traditional butter burger.

I may sound stupid but an 80/20 ratio of what? Says meat to fat ratio, but without a guide of what that is based on then i'm confused. Am i being stupid? haha, i don't cook so this might be a simple answer, it's just i'm asking because i'd genuinely like to know that's all. I just think, weight? volume? Eyeballing it? etc

The butter is the only thing keeping that burden alive. It was already dead and you burnt it to a crisp. I'll take my burger thicker and rare.
