Viking Village in Sweden: Storholmen

During my vacation in Sweden I visited the Viking Village : Storholmen just north of Stockholm. Beautiful place with friendly people and lots of activity...worth a visit. Hope you'll join me on this one too..and enjoy it.

What captured my eye was the craftsmanship of the door hinges and the rafters and joists in the great hall being held together by wood dowels. To me it is amazing to see something like that because of the time, effort and skill it took to get the fit just right. I know these buildings weren't built 1100 years ago but the attention to detail in construction using techniques of that time period is incredible. Thank you for showing this.
