You know, despite the selfish reason why Stan blinded himself, I can appreciate the silver lining that came with it

Even though Stan was selfish blinding himself, but he would rather blind himself then lose her, so he does love her.

He sacrifices his vision so that he can save his marriage. If that isn't sacrifice I don't know what is.

If you guys actually watch the episode, you'll understand.

The episode is called Shallow Vows, Francine shows her true self and Stan ran away because of Francine's you know grotesque and not attractive and so what she accuses him of being shallow in claims that he married her for her good looks, So Stan decided to blind himself so he can get past Francine's unpleasant looks but the latter of which Francine has to get a job because Stan was blind in Francine refused because she only married Stan to be taken care of and not be a provider.

Francine: "I don't want to be a provider"
Stan: "And I don't want an ugly white"
Francine: "I guess that means I'm just as shallow as you are"

And it turns out that Stan and Francine are both shallow it's just that Francine didn't even realize that she was equally as shallow as Stan.

Let's be real here. If you're not good looking, most people aren't going to marry you. We all say it's what inside that counts, and that's true to a certain extent. If you're sexy, but are a shitty person then no one will love you. If you're a good person, but not sexy then most people won't marry you. Love is physical attraction and mental attraction. Now you don't have to look like a supermodel with big breasts and a slim waist, luckily what people find attractive varies from person to person. Some may like big, short, blonde, brunet, black, white, Asian, it all depends on the person. Men aren't the only ones who do this, all women are guilty of this too. My point is, it's ridiculous to believe that someone should love you regardless of how you look, but that ideal is absurd.

How romantic Stan is amazing for doing this he did what any reasonable man would do. I would do the same thing if my beautiful wife let herself go looks is everything. I would do it to save my marriage too.
