Great job. I take an extra blade and slide it into the curf once I'm about 1/3 way cut. It acts as a shim and makes the blade cut a ton better with less vibration. Hope this helps 😃

Thanks for taking the time to make the video. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the most ingenious. I don't have time for ingenuity on every little detail of every project I do. Thank God for YouTube and for people like you who care to share. (And, "YES, if you want a straight cut with a reciprocating saw you need a jig!!!"--Ignore the haters.) Thanks again.

Great video and the sheet metal is the perfect fix for not cutting into the wood . Thanks for a great video.

You know you’re getting old when this is what you watch on YouTube for fun.

Thanks from Australia! The use of sheet metal on the jig a bloody good idea! I hope my 18v reciprocating saw can handle the load.

Awesome! Great idea! I have to cut already installed posts on a deck to fit new wood. Thank you!

Amazing the number of armchair quarterbacks spewing advice in the comments. My math professor once told me "there is always more than one way to find a solution". The method works for you and in the end that's all that matters. Great job gettin' jiggy with it.

Thanks much. I need to cut the tops off some round wooden posts where you can't get a circular saw on to because they're close to a wall. This will get er done.

Clever idea. Go a step further and slope the jig to promote water run off.

Thanks. I need to use this technique on a 2x4 half wall for a counter bar top. It isn't level and the cabinets are already in!

Great idea but seems if saw with saw blade resting on two metal angles maybe make straighter cut? Still great idea I cut them in similar way

That's one way to dull a new blade
