- Door frame hook
This is by far the most common but there are a few things you need to know about it. #1 They are fantastic for the quick and easy door frame setup. They use physics to attach to your door frame and mount securely. #2 They are also relatively inexpensive to purchase and have multiple grip positions. The number one downside is the stability. If you have much of a swing at all doing pull-ups this could come right off the door frame. Also, you will want to make sure it will fit your style of door, for instance it has to hang on a side the door isn't on. It can also leave some wear marks over time even though there are some pads. Keep that in mind.

- Door frame screw in
This is another cheap option, can be installed in nearly every door frame, and is extremely stable. It can even be removed if needed. Another huge advantage this bar has is you can always keep it up and still close your door. This may be one of the only options if that's what you are looking for. The very obvious and glaring downside is it will leave permanent holes. This is a great option for kids though because it is so stable, and if they swing on it at all they won’t end up on their back.

- Door frame quick attach
Duonamic has also solved a fantastic problem with their quick connect pull-up station called the ..... The best part about this product is it's so small, quick to setup and the perfect travel pull-up station! It can hook to nearly every door frame and easily fits in a suitcase or use at home! Since they are little straps you can also easily hook up your favorite holds. It's a little different than a pullup bar since they are handles that move, which can be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. They are really strong, but again, keep in mind this it not great if you do a lot of swinging with your pullups.

- Permanent In Ground or Garage Station
Lastly if you are looking for a more permanent pull-up station or one you can use in your garage or outside you may want to go another route. We have a video on how we built a pullup and hang station that we used often for our training - we will leave that link below. You could also mount some 4x4s in the backyard and put a bar across them or make it a salmon for a dual purpose obstacle in the backyard. Obviously the downside here can be it's much more permanent and can generally cost more depending on how you do it.

- Standalone and Wall Mounted
Others like stand up stations or wall mounted stations! For a certain use case either not being able to have anything screwed into walls or damaging trim the stand-alone stations can work great. Otherwise, if you want a stable options that is more permanent a wall mounted option can also be great for a home-gym feel.

The second bar you showed can be locked in with screwed in metal brackets that it slides down into.
The old P90x bar was that style and it makes them much safer and sturdier while still being very easy to take off and put back up.
Leaves 8 screw holes above the door if you remove it later but that's it. Highly recommend for anyone who is 200 plus pounds.

This video was helpful and I just found a cheap $25 bar at Target. I cut the cardboard from a box of cereal and put it on the spots of my door frame to keep it from damaging. Try it out guys

Everytime I use one of these I face my inner fear that the door frame is gonna break and then my knee caps.

Something else to consider as you’re comparing options is height. I’m a tall guy and if I were to use the handles option, I would have to be in an L-sit position if I wanted to get something close to full range of motion during the workout

Cool video. Also for those people who are tall over 6'4, the door pullup system may not work, your feet will be dragging on ground. You may wanna get that last system, that screws into wall

I recommend watching '10 Common Pull-up Mistakes' by Athlean-x and '5 Tips for Easier Pull-ups from a Marine'. Both have excellent and useful information.
