Lyrics:
I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in, 12: 30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"

It's gonna take a lot to take me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(Ah, gonna take the time)
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

You can't fake the joy. Look at the crowd. This is the furthest point people can travel to escape from the inward troubles of life. They have been liberated, even for a short time, they celebrated freedom. Such a beautiful sight. Age, culture, religion, race, beliefs and differences were on pause. Loved watching this.

Toto's live performance of "Africa" is nothing short of a musical masterpiece. It's a journey back in time, a celebration of exceptional musicianship, and a reminder of the timeless appeal of this classic song. Whether you're a die-hard Toto fan or simply someone who appreciates great music, this performance is a must-watch.

I truly envy those people, The opportunity to sing Africa with Toto. To sing with those who composed it one of the happiest songs mankind ever created. And we need it now more than ever.

As a combat veteran, I have to say that this song contains one of that greatest lyrics of all time. "I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become." Some of the things I did, in the service of my country, haunt me to this day. Hopefully, God will forgive me. I haven't been able to forgive myself.

Look at David Paich's face as he's singing; he's clearly happy to be entertaining people with this classic song.

Dave Paich's father encouraged him to become a songwriter as a little kid - we have a lot to thank him for I think what a classic🌹♥️

At 75, this is the music that charges my soul. So many gone, but my music plays on.

That vocal harmony in the chorus Jesus Christ that’s always been one of the if not the greatest harmonizations of vocals in existence. Prove me wrong.
