I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in twelve-thirty flight
Her moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say: "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do

I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company

I know that I must do what's right
Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become

Gonna take a lot to drag me away from
There's nothing that hundred men or more could ever do

I bless the rains down in Africa

Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you

I was a teen when this came out, I can't help but sing along. One of the best most contagious songs ever.

This song is probably one of the greatest in my lifetime. There are a lot of them being born in the early sixties, but this strikes right at my heart strings!

Wonderful song. The rhythm is felt correct with the vibrating of musical instruments. The voice is beautiful.Above all 'Toto-Africa' is an enjoyable piece. Thanks to the artistes .

Recuerdo cuando en GTA Vice City me sonaba esta canción, lo único que hacía era conducir y conducir por toda la isla.
¡Hermosos momentos!

60's 70's & 80's were great years for good Bands & music. After that it was terrible! Great to have been around for those 3 decades of great music!

My 31 yr old son committed suicide. His brothers went to a bar the night they got into town after the funeral. One said to another, "You know Andy's messing with the radio don't you?" The other said, "Ok, if he is, he needs to play Africa." It was the next song that came on. Do not question whether your loved ones are near. This isn't the last time we've heard from Andy and I hope it's never
the last.

Maybe it's the music, maybe it's the words, but this song makes me kinda emotional for some reason.
Simply lovely.
