My motivation to lose weight this year was to NOT be at the exact same place this time next year. The futility of making zero progress has been enough to keep me showing up consistently this year. Down 35 pounds so far. More to go and I will get there. I have never been so peaceful about losing weight before. Quiet motivation is powerful.

Best video of yours I have watched! I loved the way you smashed right through the negative self-talk that results from these myths! The one I suffered from was " Most people can't maintain the loss." I feared that, and it became a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I have a friend who has been a member of Weight Watchers for 30+ years! She has lost and regained the same pounds over and over again. Never maintained the loss for more than a few months. She has always hovered around 300 pounds. So sad

Carla, you are such an inspiring, honest & lovely person 💕 In march 2021 I was 83kg at the end of lockdown. That was when I showed up for myself & changed my lifestyle. I suffer chronic pain for nearly 10 yrs & with no access to swimming pools I piled on the weight. I then lost 30kg in 8 months & have kept it off. Calorie control, eating healthy unprocessed food, especially NO SUGAR & No refined carbohydrates. I do low carb foods such as sweet potatoes, vegetables, oats & local bakery granary bread. This has worked best for me. I eat anti inflammatory foods & have tea, coffee, water & milk to drink. As you say it’s about changing your lifestyle & being positive about yourself. You do have bad days & the negative naysayers but, it’s when you see how far you’ve come & how much better you look & feel. I love your channel as you keep me motivated & positive. Thank you X❤️

Hi Carla! You are so right! I was with one of those big weight loss companies over the last 30 years and it is a money making proposition. I'm post menopausal and supposedly I shouldn't be able to lose weight easily. I'm doing Intermittent Fasting and am consistently losing 1.5-2 pounds a week. Difference? It's a lifestyle not a plan! X

X. Thank you for speaking truth. It is incredibly refreshing! I am EXHAUSTED from the clutter of misinformation from the "diet industry". Thank you for sharing your experiences --they have help construct my own behavioral framework. Been walking 1 hour a day (5am.. only have to watch out for bears. 😅)... counting calories, drinking beaucoup water and making better choices all around, fasting 18-6.
Think my next tattoo will be the word 'consistent' . ☕️

X that was so needed! It’s myth number one that I battle daily. I do love my butter on my avocado toast every morning, i just make sure to measure half a tbsp. I find the avo and butter keep me satisfied all morning 🥰

X - Yeah, that slow weight loss idea is such a myth, especially when you lose weight eating normal, nutritious healthy foods in reasonable amounts. I suppose if you lose it with something like diet shakes and no real food, there might be a bit of truth to the lose it slow myth. I'm so glad you busted that myth because I'm on a mission to lose this excess weight quickly, healthily, and permanently! You are so inspirational! Thanks for all you do. Luv Ya❤!

X You are so right about consistency, also known as discipline. Motivation waxes and wanes like the moon. Discipline is the sun coming up every day, even when it's cloudy. Thanks for your example and sharing all your knowledge.

You are really mentally tough! I envy you. I’ve lost 108 lbs now with 10 to go. I literally DREAM about cheat days!! I always have. I do about one/week. It worries me sometimes that I’ll be terrible in maintenance. I still love those old foods that poisoned me throughout the years. 😬😬😬 X

X Hi Carla! I just found your channel a few days ago, I love you, I love what you are teaching people. I have learned so much from you in such a short time! My biggest breakthroughs (in my whole life of trying to lose weight) have come from watching your channel. You said, "If you can lose 1 pound you can lose 100" WOW, that is so TRUE!!! And the biggest WOW moment for me is that IF I do the right actions that get the RESULTS that I want, I WILL BE MOTIVATED!! WOW, Now for the last 3 days I wake up excited to make results that will give me motivation, and it's truly working. I haven't been this hopeful or inspired or motivated in many years. And for the 1st time in my life I KNOW I can make it all the way to my goal weight! I'm excited! I just want to thank you for putting this info out there for free, But YES I did sign up for BodySlim this September 20th. I'm already walking an hour a day and watching my food, I'm already losing weight. I've lost 6 pounds this week! BTW I'm 50 years old, and I don't believe the garbage that because I'm over 50 I can't lose weight, it's bullcrap! I'm losing weight at the same rate I did when I was in my 20's... Carla you are so right! Motivation ebbs and flows so consistency is KEY. Day after day after day keep going!. You should be a motivational weight loss speaker and I don’t mean an advocate for a certain brand like bodyslims, because we are all on different programs, I for example am doing slimming world and currently an 2 1/2 stone down 😊. Don’t pigeonhole yourself, what you have learned is so valuable to ALL of us on this journey. Thankyou for speaking up! ❤
