If anyone was struggling like me... tell the echo dot to connect to your TV/ Fite TV stick. Go to the setting in the fire tv stick and make sure your Bluetooth is searching and bam (it worked for me after two tries)

Mine certainly didn't do this 'automatically', nor did the Alexa app find my Fire TV stick through the settings/TV & Video method, despite TV, router, and remote all being within three metres of each other. When it doesn't work how can you put it right?

Sys Admin here. One quick thing to check is make sure you're using the same amazon accounts. if you have different amazon accounts registered the devices won't be able to link with one another.

what absolute rubbish, I hope the Amazon team are watching this. for a year my fire TV could just turn on my saying echo, turn on bedroom TV.. For the last 6 months says "doesn't support that". a dozen chats and emails to help solve the problem and nothing.

To be honest, this is pretty aggravating because I did the same thing and I have a pioneer Fire TV and it’s not picking it up. Are there any other ways to connect my pioneer Fire TV?

Wow, if only I was living in the universe where it is this easy. Apparently, I am in an alternate dimension where the opposite is true. Alexa on my phone app does not even try to find my Fire TV, simply tells me immediately that I don't have one. If I ask Alexa to play Jack Ryan, it starts to play music. Even if I say "Play Jack Ryan on my Fire TV."
