Guys I'm telling you, I used some of his tactics yesterday in buying a 2021 Hyundai Tucson at a local dealer. I got the absolute best deal I've ever gotten in my life on this car!!! Thanks so much Chevy Dude!!! It works!!!

Tip #7: Buy the car from the Chevy dude to make sure you get the best deal possible with a respectable salesman.

What's wrong with going to a car dealership and just wanting to look around? I can't ever seem to do that. As soon as I walk on the lot, the salepeople swarm me. How do you politely tell them to leave you alone and if you see something you like you will come find them? This doesn't waste the salesman's time and I don't feel pressured to make a decision.

#7 Shop around. Take a day or two and go to a few different places for quotes, then go back with those other quotes in hand and let them (the dealerships) compete for your business.

I really don’t understand why it takes 4 hours to buy a car. Especially since every single time I’ve gone to a dealer, I have known exactly what I wanted. I knew exactly what my tray was worth. I knew exactly what my credit score was, and I almost always have my own financing in hand, but it still takes four hours because the dealers are using that time to wear you down to get you to buy ad on warrantees, add-on bits, all needless the extras. ( door handle cup protectors?, I’ll just trim my nails thank you ) Anything they can to squeeze as much money out of you and then, of course you know all these extras get rolled into your payment like that supposed to make it feel better.

Weird story: I once ended up buying a truck I didn't really want, and was regretful immediately afterwards because I didn't like the color of it. It turned out to be the best, most reliable vehicle I ever owned and I kept it for 16 years.

1. Hungry 2. Vague goals 3. No appointment or late 4. Unrealistic monthly payment or discount 4a. No budget for deposit 5. Unrealistic trade in value. 6. Not having enough time during your visit (e.g. 4 hours is the average).

Hey Chevy,

I recently bought a new car on Monday and I followed all your advice, from dealer rater to looking at kelly blue book and truecar. I had an amazing experience and just wanted to thank you for helping me to walk in confident and realistic. It helped me get the exact car I wanted with a great monthly payment including a great warranty with no additional money added onto my monthly.

Thanks dude!

Btw my old car was a 2010, 117k and a salvage title but carmax offered me 4k. I highly suggest to get your car appraised before so if the dealership offers a low price, you have a second option.

$500 average payment for $25, 000 average price. That is not a good deal at all.

A couple years later, but as a consultant in 2023 this is still dead on. Trust me, guys, we want the process to be quick and easy as much as you. We take up less of your time, make you happier, and we can see more customers. Win-win.

Most of the old bad Sales People have become Finance Manager so they can stick it to us as car buyers before we get out the door.

My number one rule. NEVER tell the salesman what I do for a living. Just inform them that I have plenty of money to buy the car I want. If they ask twice. Repeat your answer twice.

I had a bad experience even with knowing the vehicle I wanted and pre-approved through my bank for it. I get there and the sales man told me they no longer had the vehicle. He completely gave me the run around. Even trying to get me to get a vehicle outside of my price range through a different finance company. Finally after EIGHT (8) HOURS, I was worn down and told him I’d just try again later. This man told m he wanted to look at one more vehicle. It was the SAME vehicle I went in and asked about that he told me had been sold!!!! Even after that, it took two weeks because I told my bank if they didn’t take all those fees off that I didn’t request, I didn’t want them to release the funds and I would park it back on their lot. I was so heartbroken after reflecting back on my experience but I really wanted that vehicle. The salesman didn’t have to do me like that. I still have the vehicle and I want a newer model, but I’m so afraid of going back to that dealership.

I put down 50% when I got my Silverado back in January. That being the case, I hope I won't have to worry too much about negative equity.
