I've noticed several questions about trigger coil output. Hot tip: a regular dvom will provide inaccurate readings. You must use a peak adapter. The signal is must too fast for a multimeter alone to capture. Hope this helps.

Question... I have a Wolf RX 50cc moped. When I try to start it, it just turns over. If I remove the White/Black (ground) wire on the CDI, it will start but not turn off until I reinsert the White/Black wire. I have replaced the kill switch, CDI, Stator, Ignition coil. What am I missing? Bad ground somewhere?

Your vid helped me a lot with my Buddy 125. It turned out to b a failing pulse coil. The little one that times the spark. It has been going bad for quite awhile. The scooter would start and run perfect. But when it was pretty hot after a long up hill run it would cut out just a little. Then it would b fine for a few days. I even would go on 50 mile trips. Then it started dying more often. It would often seem to ohm out ok. Finally, it would stall and barely run. It the ohmed as open circuit. I replaced the complete stator and it is fixed. It was an intermittent problem that finally got to the point where it quit. Total pain. But very happy it is fixed. Thank u for that great diagram and video!!

I have a basic question. On my 90cc Kymco, the plug will spark whether it is grounded to engine or not. I am used to having to ground the plug to the engine/frame for it to spark. I assume because the coil has 2 wires to include a ground, this is normal. I just noticed when I was working on a spark issue that it would through a spark with the plug and plug wire laying on top of the front tire, and that was a new one for me.

Serious question! If I ground out pin #4 and disconnect pin #5. To bypass the key switch and engine stop button, how do I start the engine? TY

Great informative video, just one thing I noticed in your spark plug gap conversion to imperial, it should be .023” - .027”
0.1mm= .004”

Great video!
I put a new carburetor on, but when I drive around first it's fine but as I drive a half a mile it starts to bog down . I can't get any power to get moving. Then after 5 minutes the power comes slowly back.
We did mess alittle bit tweaking the new carburetor but can't find that sweet spot I guess.
Thanks

do you have a breakdown of what pin has what connected to it inside of the CDI? and what readings to expect with the multimeter?

Hi there! In the CDI diagram pin # 1 goes to pickup. What is that? The wire harness on mine is missing that plug. (Fixing somebody elses wiring mess) 😅

Maybe a stupid question. But is there a difference between negative ac and dc ? The green wire from stator (ground) is connected to the frame/engine/chassis, but also connected there is the dc negative from battery. So its ok to have both AC and DC ground on the same place ( engine/frame chassis etc).

Could any of these electrical components cause a bogging at half throttle?

Why on the coil did you say the green was power side and black was ground side? All my quads with this style coil, the green ground wire in on the green side of coil and the yellow power wire is on the black side of coil. Thanks
