BUY IT NOW:

If your watching this video, most likely you have experienced vacuum operated fuel pump issues. For instance, after two weeks of the machines sitting or less in some cases. When you try to start the engine you nearly drain the battery before the engine starts. Bottom line is the small engine impulse / Vacuum fuel pumps have a lot of issues. We have the fix. This proved kit will upgrade your impulse or vacuum fuel pump to our electric fuel pump set up. Without the use of a Honda Ruckus ecu. This is a very needed upgrade for people that have purchased a budget GY6 wiring harness for their Honda Ruckus and isn’t utilizing a electric fuel pump.

Yes these are all great new items I’m all for it! 👍🏼👍🏼 but for the ones who has the Mikuni fuel pump now they can blow on the gas tank to push the gas up to the carb to prime but who would want to keep doing that right so the easiest fix for this is installing a fuel transfer pump/manual pump on the fuel line between the pump and carb. You can buy the smallest one you can find so it’s easy to tuck away.

Just another branch that people need to know if we’re about helping the community. More power to you guys Big Mike! 🍻

i had the same problem, fixed it with a primer bulb from a boat mounted under the seat been working perfect for a while.
after it sets for a while just sit down give a squeeze or two then hit the starter and within a sec or two she's running.
total cost..about 8 dollars.

My fuel tank is above the carburetor. No Vac-op fuel pump for me. Thanks for the video. Educational. ❤

Fuel pumps are very reliable and rarely go bad.

I love your videos and all the hard work it takes to make them. It's been so useful and pivotal for me. I'm riveted by your knowledge and your delivery style. With that said, I got a 150 Maddog a week ago, I have major plans...this is way down on the list but i was wondering if you could quickly describe what to do on an AC bike? I'd love a quick tip on how to install this on my maddog and the work around details for AC. Again, thank you for all your hard work, i make videos for living, i direct music videos for Sevendust and metal bands like that so i know the work that is needed for these, you are prolific!!! and aloha from Kauai!! you wouldnt believe the hoops jumped through to get a NEW maddog here, lolol. EDIT: I see you've answered this question below, it pays to read all the comments. The compliments still apply, Imma TRY and figure out what "tapping into the ignition wire" means, how to do it, then do THAT..:) Feel free to make a quick video on that since many of us do have AC to contend with! :)))

Same problem with lawn tractors that use a very similar vacuum pump system so your fuel is going back to the gas tank in about two days time and you try to start it 2 days later you're cranking for quite a bit before it fires off again!

If your carb bowl is full, then it'll start with no issue. Then the vacuum pump will have plenty of time to catch up. Another issue you're facing is the pump need to be pumping, not pulling. Mount it low, by the tank, and this is again a non issue. Also, try using a battery that isn't half dead.

SOLD! I'm gonna get one soon. My high rev GET runs the carb dry at WOT.... maybe speeding up the stock fuel pump pulse will provide the little bit extra fuel I need!

Great video! Alternatively you could put the electric pump prior to the vacuum pump as a booster and wire it to the ignition switch, So it would come on and pump fuel to the carb on starting and then the OEM vac pump would take over during normal operation,

Been following for years. Ever consider getting a Sur Ron and modding it? Feel like it’d be a great way to gain a huge following while helping the electric community as well with your knowledge and ingenuity.
Just something to consider ✌️

I had this problems with vacuum pumps to supply fuel on my 2 twins carbys, , i fixed with a simple eletric pump whit a relay switch to the ignition 12 voltage, ,run when engine on an stops when you turn off the engine, ,easy,,

Those (vacuum) pulse fuel pumps are generally ran to the *crankcase* on riding mowers, not the intake. Constant vacuum does not power them.

It needs to be cycled from pressure to vacuum to pressure to vacuum.

Vacuum pulls fuel into the pump, pressure pushes it to the carburetor, and the cycle continues.

Have one on hyosung Aquila gv250. Tank is above the carbs. I have done everything to this bike and I mean everything. Carbs and all. Still dies upon throttle but it starts and idles perfect. I have to spray the carbs to rev normal. I have a feeling it's this vac fuel pump. It's my first one I've ever seen.

These pulse pumps are actually very reliable and are widely used by experimental aircraft. It's not the pumps' fault that the fuel is low and needs to be pumped up to the carb. It's the pumps' job to keep the fuel flowing to the carb AFTER the engine starts, not get the fuel there to start with. To do that, use a primer bulb like outboard motors use. Also, the vacuum line should be as short as possible and made from stiff rubber hose, not long soft fuel line. If you use an electric pump, you must insure that the pump pressure doesn't exceed the rated pressure of the carburetor. Otherwise the pump will overdrive the carb float valve.

Whilst I think this is great upgrade it should be noted most of the problems associated with el cheapo vacuum pumps are because of the use of ethanol fuel. Whilst most, not all, GY6 style engines can tolerate E10 fuel it turns the diaphragm in the fuel pump into a wibbly wobbly jelly like curtain instead of a semi rigid membrane that can 'pop' back and forth and so pump properly. Mikuni and Keihin vacuum fuel pumps currently made in Japan have ethanol tolerant diaphragms however, because ethanol also jellifies the non-metallic components of the typical CV carburetor (float needle tip, main diaphragm, air cut valve diaphragm, bi-starter seat) they don't work properly either. I use E10 with no problems in my cars and my motorcycles which are fuel injected but not in my scooters.

You are a life saver to the problems I am having, only thing is I tried to order the whole unit and sadly enough it appears it can only be ordered in the US. I am just a border away in Canada and want one real bad, do I have to drive the 2076.8 miles just to get one? lol

So it's basically priming the carb, like a lawn mower, but on auto pilot.... pretty cool design my friend
