Ecoflow Delta Pro - Major Issue?

In this video, I discuss an problematic issue that has now happened to me multiple times with my Delta Pros. It is the biggest flaw so far that I've found with the Delta Pro and it seems like no one else has really talked about it. I always try to highlight the good with the bad and this video explains what I see as a design/production flaw in the Delta Pro.

The XT60i in the ecoflow Delta Pro is held in place by a metal bracket with two screws attached to the back panel. The xt60 I used in the Delta pro has two threaded nuts built into the Jack itself that are not used assembly because ecoflow did not want the screws to be visible. The back panel plastic becomes brittle so the screws holding the metal bracket break free and then there is nothing to hold the jack in place. Remove the rubber trim on top of the DP and remove the screws beneath it to remove the top of the DP. Unplug the XT60i dongle from the solar charge controller unit and now you can remove the jack and it's 5 inch cord. You will see the two screw holes on the Jack. Now place the jack on the back of the unit to guide you at drilling 2, 1/16" pilot holes through the plastic above and below the XT60i jack. Now set the jack aside and drill the holes slightly bigger. I found some small Philips head screws that fit right into the built in nuts on the jack and used them to screw the jack back in. Plug the jack back into the charge controller and you're good to go. Make sure to retrieve the metal bracket and it's two screws by tilting the DP up onto it's back. You don't want them loose inside your unit where they may eventually short something😮😮

Daniel. Thank you, thank you for this terrific video. I had this exact problem yesterday, only the second time I plugged the XT60i cable into the receptacle, and as it detached I heard the distinct sound of what I thought was a screw falling inside the unit. I immediately wrote to Ecoflow but haven't heard back from them yet. Your video will be my proof that it is a known problem. Your suggestion to use a pigtail to take the stress off the Pro's input is excellent and I've already ordered them for my other EcoFlow units. Again, thanks for this invaluable video.

I pushed the XT60 plug into my unit a while back.
Ecoflow offered me the same deal but I decided to fix it myself [ completely against Ecoflow advice ]. The plug is held in by two screws and a metal plate BUT the screws go into thin plastic.
I was able to use a couple of screws and secure the plug to the case.

I had that happen on my first Delta Pro. The Solar Port was loose right out of the box. Ecoflow shipped me a brand new Delta Pro. Good customer service.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video, as I was watching I never thought of putting a pigtail on it that would make it a lot easier, thank you for telling the pros and cons of everything you review.

This is exactly what happened to me. Just called Ecoflow and will be sending a photo of the said issue and they will then assess. While I am sure I could make the repair, but since it is fairly new and obviously still under warrant, I may just send it back. I love this thing and really don't care to send it back, but it does have to be repaired and I don't feel like opening this thing up. I really like your idea of using the adapter cable, even if it means it will be hanging there the whole time.

I fixed mine in 5 minutes by removing the lid and pulling the cable through. We have become a generation of absolute incompetence

Same thing happened to me. It’s really a poor design by EcoFlow. I love my unit so I removed the cover and secured the XT-60 connector better. Thank you for sharing

THANK I just bought three of these from Costco with a VERY good price! I haven't used them as of yet and am thinking that I will buy the work-around of the extension XT60 I've seen this issue before here on YT and didn't pay that much attention to it. Now that I see there are others having the SAME issue is concerning to me. Does Ecoflow not allow you to open the case, fish out the connector and re-adhesive it back to its home? It seems like that would be a great option as well as, at the same time, give the end user HUGE warnings about them being electrocuted if they touch the wrong thing inside. Thanks for making this video!! I wish you had an affiliate link for the extension cables....

THANK YOU for the "heads-up" on this issue, it's a small issue but just the same, it's something that buyers will WANT to be aware of before they buy. My question to ANYONE here is, This cable shown here 5:24 give one more connection point. Don't more connection points tent to lessen the power that will eventually get to your Ecoflow unit? That's really my only concern at this point. Thanks in advance to all who can chime in about this concern!

I have heard other people have had that problem. Hopefully it will be fixed on the newer units.

Same thing happened to me. It's super easy to fix. If your mildly handy ...take it apart. YouTube shows you disassembly. Takes 8min. Get some quality CA glue with spray. Medium body ca glue is what I used. 1st loctite glue it in place(spot weld). Then on the back side build ...spray...wait. repeat. Reassemble. Mines been fine for months. Just be slow ...steady and careful reinserting the plug from here out.

I added 1M xt60i pigtails to both of my delta pro’s. I put a stress loop in it and zip tied it to the back handle. The end lays next to the delta pro where I can easily get to it. Great $11 worth insurance.

Sorry to find out on this potential issue related to my newly purchased and still hooking up and testing things with my PRO unit.
My workaround concerning the issue is for me to connect the adapter cable into that connector and never unplug it for as long as I can. The unit came with an adapter cable and it has the standard solar panel MC-4 connectors so that is where I will go when disconnecting the solar input to my brand new unit. Hope your issue is not chronic in the entire brand family.

Makes sense, somewhat like the phone charger ports get worn out from use. Got nervous at first, I literally just completed my order for 2 Delta Pros and a Smart panel, taking advantage of the labor day sale. lol

Good to know and advice. I think I will wait for the new Delta 2 Pro to come out before pulling the trigger.

Thank you for this video. I'm getting ready to use my Delta Pros to offset my house energy consumption, so this is very good to know. I wanted to recommend researching how other YouTubers/Content creators have stores or provide links to products mentioned in their videos, and if you can link to the product and get a little bit of a kickback, because for what you do - I'd be happy to help support you in this manner, but I'll definitely be getting these. Also, I see that you have your Delta Pros in your garage, as do I. I think you said you are in Iowa, I'm in Virginia, and during the winter I bring my Delta into the house because even though my garage door is insulated and the 3 of the 4 surrounding walls are too, it gets pretty cold. Do you do any temperature mitigation for your garage to keep your Delta Pros in the ideal operating range? If so, it would be great to see a video on that. :)

For the life of me I can’t find an XT60i M-F adaptor online, standard XT60 no problem. The ports on mine are a year old and still feel very solid but why take the risk when the solution is so cheap, I don’t suppose you could put a link in the description as to where I can get the adaptor please?

Well I just ordered one of these this week. Looks like I will be putting an XT60 pigtail on it so I only have to insert an XT60 into the unit one time. =)
