All same engine. Ya welcome🤝🏾

I’m settling the verdict.

I currently own a 2016 Challenger SRT 392, and it’s basically a Hellcat with a 392 drive train in it. I have a buddy who’s Hellcat is identical to mine, except mines doesn’t have a supercharger (yet he’s paying twice as I am 🤣). But what really makes me laugh is the differences between the SRT 392 and the Scat Pack.

Both have the same engine, body style, but with a few differences. The SRT 392 was basically the option if you couldn’t get a Hellcat. The Scat Pack was an option if you couldn’t get the SRT 392. Now the SRT 392s discontinued for awhile, and the Scat Pack can be fully upgraded just like the SRT 392.

What I find most funny is that people with the modern upgraded Scat Pack call the car an SRT (pretty much an excuse since the engine block says ‘Powered By SRT’). But realistically they’re not in 3 distinctions:

Start button (SRT 392 and Hellcat is red; Scat Pack and below is all black).
The key fobs (SRT 392 and Hellcat have ‘SRT’ plated on it; Scat Packs and below have “Dodge’ plated on it.
This is curtains but the VIN. For the Scat Pack, it’s labeled ‘R/T Scat Pack’ when you research the VIN.
For all the Scat Pack owners reading this, you can comment all day saying your car is an SRT, but I’m always gonna ask y’all “what’s your VIN?” “Is your start button red?” “Let me see your keys.” You’ll never win. But hey if you want to be SRT, there’s plenty of SRT 392s on the market. 🤣

1. SRT means Street Racing Technology
2. R/T Means Road and Track
3. All the 6.4 are called scat packs (392) and they were made for the R/T charger and Some Road Runners during 60-80's.
Ok So in 2015 and up dodge made 6.4 available for both Chargers and Challengers. In 2015-2017 SRT made 392 based of the 2017 hellcat, which came with the leather interior and active suspension, minus the engine. The SRT 392 was discontinue due to sales and insurances payouts on them getting stolen, in 2018 the wide body version came out and received the 6.4 and Dodge gave the name scat pack with parts from SRT's 392 catalog of left over which include the active exhaust, active suspension, and 6 piston Brembo's, that's why it says powered by SRT.

The wide body gets you all the suspension and other options from the hell cat

The 15-18 SRT 392 has about 15-20 more horsepower than the 15-18 scat pack. The SRT 392 is basically the SUPER TRACK PACK for the 15-18 392 cars. All 19-23 HEMIs, 5.7 and 392, have the SUPER TRACK PACK, which gave them the slight hp boost and SRT options to choose from.

So BASICALLY it’s STILL the same car just labeled differently, or in other words dodge made the scat pack essentially a cheaper car with the ability to have the SAME options, which would theoretically make the price point a little more to be able to make more money on the same vehicle, or give the buyer more option to be able to option up the vehicle to they’re preference instead of getting the take it or leave it “package deal”

Went for a scat pack and ended up leaving with a rt half paid of couple months use it as a trade in for the hellcat so I don't have to be paying hellcat apr or numbers every month want my payments to look like a Honda accord payments 😅😂😂

Its the same car, just the SRT has more options and better suspension. Its like comparing a Mustang GT to a GT premium or a 1SS to a 2SS. I still dont understand why mopar fanboys get cant figure this out

Yea but scatpack is not an SRT. People want the SRT name. It honestly bothers me that they took the SRT 392 off the line. Yet they want SRT money for a SP.

SRT 392 is the hellcat minus the blower. Leather seats, 6 poston brakes, active suspension and leather seats. No ppwertrain options.

He’s wrong because you could get the dynamics package which was basically Hellcat/SRT trim levels only difference was badging and alcantera instead of smooth leather

how is it a hellcat with a different motor if the car being named ‘hellcat’ is based on the motor itself? 😂
