Hot takes: I'd still take a challenger SRT-8

The Large Displacement V8 engine is a wonderful engine. The problem is the 2004 W211 platform needs a redesign. Mercedes stopped producing it in 2009.

Love my scat, gets a lot of hate on the Internet, but in person people like it

The difference is trim and engine. The scat pack is still a R/T. Funny thing about the entry level V8 is with a couple of mods It’s beating the next level trim, which is the scat pack.

The 5.7 is the most reliable v8 tho they don't die unless owner beat the hell out of it .

The tires can make all the difference in the 2 trims

Also forgot the 5.7 is naturally aspirated and 0-60 for RT 5.2sec but I personally have hit 4.6sec

My dad has a Challenger RT with the 5.7 and 6 speed manual. He's in his 70's so he doesn't drive it hard. He as always wanted a Challenger so he bought one 5 years ago. I drove the car and was impressed with the power the car had. I could only imagine the power the Skat or the Hellcat have over the regular 5.7.

6.4l gas guzzler. 5.7 is literally the best for daily use

The R/T is really all you need. Im not shopping anymore but i rememebr seeing them be a lot reasonably priced new or used. And i gotta imagine theyre easier to fix than the more engineered trims

Which one would you choose ? I’m going with the R/T because they can handle more boost without massive upgrades

Ppl don’t understand that with a few mods a regular 5.7 rt can smoke a scat pack and keep up with a cat if not beat the cat.

I've gotten 4.8 0-60 in my charger RT. And the proof via the timer in the car

No matter what the differences are, they all end up with a salvage title after getting repo'd, stolen, and blown up.

if you want stock speed, scat pack. If you want to mod, R/T. The 5.7L engine handles boost much better than the 6.4L engine.

It may be the slowest but it has the most potential. Built right, it would destroy a scat!the scat is already maxed out in terms of its ability to handle big mods for big power. You’d have to stroke the block, the internals are not as strong as a 5.7

I have a older 06 RT with basic bolt ons and tune and found with good 285-305’s on the rear bump that 0-60 in just under 5 sec

The R/T manual Challenger is a loop hole. Cheaper than the automatic and comes with the super track pack. LSD, no MDS, a few more ponies/10 lb ft of torque, and the sport mode actually makes a noticeable difference.
