The protests include all kinds of people angry about myriad topics, meaning that Modi's facing real opposition for one of the first times in his premiership. So in this video we explain how this started, what it all means for Modi's government & if it will change the future of India.

Now it's calming down after recent Rajyasabha meeting. Many central and Southern Indian states have no problem with the laws. But I need to say there was no bias in the video... U addressed both side. Great work

Farmer From India Here- A good video but does not cover all the aspects. The laws require some amendments but they are not as bad as they are being portrayed by certain group of ppl, referring them as black laws is not correct. Ammendments and Reforms are required for sure.

This is one of the most sensible and unbiased coverage of the issue. Even better than most of the Indian news organizations.

Keep it up, Jack!

It's an embarrassment how a British dude in his bedroom covered this better in 10 minutes than all the Indian news media

It has always been difficult to implement new reforms in India. While this changes are supported by majority of people but given the size of population even a small percent of people opposing makes a big number.

It took 50 years for Punjabis to master mandi system. In South India, maharastra, Gujarat this laws will be better. As our mandi system is bad and we will grow as per contracts with planning. Presently in all state farmers produce the same type crops so there is an extra supply of crop (less demand more supply) and middleman looting farmers this is disastrous for our farmers until now.

Sounds like it's an example of good intentions but bad results.

Correction: 40% of the population works in agriculture. Not 60%

You guys should cover a similar situation in Indonesia, a new law that was meant to attract investors has been controversial.

You guys skipped the most important part, explaining what's happening now and how the three laws would individually change them. Skipping over it and saying only the rhetoric of market doesn't paint the whole picture. People around the globe needs to know what the laws are so that they can decide who they support. Skipping the explanation because that would make the video long is counterproductive to making this video. You should explain the laws and not the protests.

most of the things in the Video are true except two.
1 There had been consultation for many years, those protesting wanted same reforms for many years.
2 There are 36 States including UT and except 2 states rest of India have no issues.

TLDR: "the largest protest movement in History"

As an Indian I can say that this explanatory video is far from actual scenario. India is a big country and not all farmers are actually protesting these laws. I do not undermine there protests but it is not just the farmers protests now, it is political and every politician is eager to exploit this topic and make this into there advantage.

There have been 11 rounds of talks between government and farmers ...

Thank you for the fair coverage. The changes are required, but there are so many loopholes in that need to be plugged through discussion and dialogue. I am so sick and tired of the coverage in my country, antagonising one side or the other.

Let me be first to tell you that yeah this laws are gonna hit small farmers of only Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan but this laws are really helpful to rest of us in the country where we never got MSP in the first place, and the sad truth about MSP is it creates huge surpluses of rice and wheats and deficit in other crops

Dear Jack and team,

Your non-paetisan and informative content is fire.
I really hope you guys can expand your team so that you can have (maybe) more narrators and videos.

But for now, Epic.

How else a law can be passed if not through the parliament ?
.
And how passing a law through the parliament is autocratic ?!

People in the comments are arguing about whether tldr is 'biased'. I'm not sure anybody or any organization is 'unbiased', but you can tell that Jack and tldr try to be fair.

They tend to be pragmatic rather than ideological and try to see good things on various sides of various arguments.

This means to me that they have refreshing takes on hot-button issues.

I feel like that matters more than them being 'unbiased'.
