Parents want answers after 6-year-old daughter left alone at day care for hours

A couple wants answers and accountability after they say their 6-year-old daughter was left alone for seven hours at a daycare while her teachers and classmates went on a field trip.

"She was told to go to the bathroom before they got on the bus. In the bathroom, she said she heard somebody say, 'hurry up.' And when she came out everybody was gone," said Dana Jones.

I work at a daycare, and I cannot even fathom how something like that could happen. Didn't the workers take attendance, or at the VERY least count the kids??? At my place of employment, you have to take attendance ANYTIME the children transition from one place to another, within the building or off the premises. They should at the very least have taken attendance before that bus pulled out of the daycare! I also can't believe nobody noticed she was missing in over SEVEN hours!!! I hope the adults involved receive maximum consequences for their negligence.

Ohhh, that's terrible. Not only did she miss out on what would have been a very wonderful field trip with her teachers & fellow daycare kids, but she was also left alone by herself for 6-7 hours!!! 😠 Poor wee girl! She must have been SO scared, & lonely, & hungry, & miserable... :-(

I once went to a daycare to pick up my daughter. She was in the outdoors play area, crying and her face and hands were filthy. She'd been pushed down by another child. The person who was supposed to be watching them was just leaning on the fence; doing nothing. I took her to the bathroom, cleaned her face and hands, talked to her, than went and told the day care manager exactly what I thought of her facility and we never went back.

Poor babes. I'm glad she's safe! What if she had wondered outside into the streets and some weirdo took her? I hope this place gets shut down. The director sounds incompetent. I would never leave my children with her.

I’m glad the child is okay but I also want to reiterate the importance of parents teaching their child that’s her age, how to call 911 on a telephone and possible know at least one parents phone number. She may have been able to call her mother if she knew how to.

When I was 10 we went to a restaurant for dinner. As we were leaving I told my brother to wait so I could use the bathroom. I came out and everyone was GONE.

If that were the parents who neglected their six year child, they would be in handcuffs but a business can do the same thing and get away with it.

My question to the Director is why didn't one of the teachers waited outside the bathroom and then make sure the little girl got on the bus?? What was so complicated about doing that.

Now did uses leave on purpose cause she went to restroom last minute that's what it seem like to me this was meant to happen so uses can shut down this was not at all acceptable one of the staff should been by the bathroom and waited for her my major point call names until all answer count how many shame on uses this is no excuse

Horrible / uses go on a trip u suppose to write everybody name down on a clip board and have a roll call are uses kidden me hello don't use know that. Use didn't call her name no body names or count the kids and how many people on the bus they was very unprofessional u count ant make sure everybody is on the bus it's no excuse it's 123 keep counting and calling the names use need retraining or shut the day care down

Mega lawsuit from me if that were my child. That said....a child that age should be able to use a phone and call 911. Also should know parents numbers
