'What Do The Crown Cast Really Think of the Critics?'

Stars of the fifth season of Netflix's The Crown took to the red carpet for the official premiere at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London.

The fifth season will be the first of the series to be released following both the death of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II.

Lesley Manville, Marcia Warren and Claudia Harrison are some of the names that react to critics over the show's fictionalisation of real-life events.

Sadly, many who do watch it will take it as factual. This distorts history. Absolutely, there should be a banner at the start of each episode stating dramatic license has been taken.

I will not watch it. Very disrespectful, using the current royal family to make TV money. King Charles and Queen Camilla are just starting there reign, after all, and the salacious and gossipy stuff in The Crown is harmful. It will also be painful for William, Prince of Wales. I would hate to have my teen years and early adulthood scrutinized like this. We all would. This type of soap opera “historical fiction” is okay for characters who are long dead. Not for currently living characters!

The actors repeatedly said, "Watch it." That's the purpose of the intended controversy I think. To sell air time. There was also a repeated emphasis on research and accuracy alongside insistence that it was drama and not documentary. Those comments don't necessarily square. Netflix. I'm cancelling my subscription *after* I've seen the whole season. Episode 4 now. There have been some strong, positive parts about the King, especially in dialog with Anne as portrayed.

In the trailer on Netflix it said THE BEGINNING OF THE END and that says it all about what this show aims to bring about

It might be physically precise but Dramatic and emotionally untrue and unfair. It is the young and barely educated that are drawn to this glamour without the skills or information to disentangle this cruel using of real people, people still alive .... the Brits do it a lot too .

There are so many of these movies each one is the writers imagination. No one knows the truth of any of this, even harry's book won't be true facts. He was so young, feelings are not fact.

Documentaries are more scripted than fictional stories…I think that’s why it’s shaking the kingdom;it’s an epic drama

I've lost respect for the actors who took on these representations and I probably won't bother watching anything they might do in future.
Those they represent are living people having their lives not just laid bare but misrepresented, and with no recourse but to smile and pretend they aren't affected.
I haven't watched any of it and won't watch any future episodes either. I feel for the creators and actors in much the same way as I feel for Harry and his wife. They are exploiters and money grubbers, hurting people for their own gain with no shame for the hurt they impose. No kudos nor applause nor awards from me. I turn my back. Two thumbs down. 👎👎

I won't watch it at all, I feel bad about leis and those who make money with it! And call me old fashioned I don't like to lie to either! I even cancelled my Netflix subscription! Actors always think they are the bee's knees, but they aren't. They love to cause a stir to get viewers. And if you be honest leis and shocking people is the easiest way to make money for them. You don't even need talent for it!

I don't find this relevant. It's like party privilege any queries problems resolved privately as much as possible. Feeling entitled to use the monarchs image for your own personal gain is inapropritale. You had this bright idea to make money out of false stories of the monarch not appropriate even if it were true without permission. And there has been a stir with Netflix.

The story, as we all know is true, as we all saw Diana and Charles on tv, we all saw many photos only the dialogs are fictional. So where is the problem. If you like it you can watch it if you doesn't like it just don't watch it. All this happend a long time ago.

It cannot be factually accurate. For one, they picked actors who are so much more physically unattractive than the true royals. lol

I've just watched the whole thing, I didn't see anything bad about it towards the Monachy apart from Diana being a bit of a nut case.
