Elizabeth Debicki as Lady Diana is marvellous. Also, the casting this season is so on point! Special shoutout to Jonny Lee Miller.

Elizabeth Debicki as Diana is one of the most accurate, brilliant and slam dunk portrayals in the history of biographies

Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana is the standout performance from Season 5. She's amazingly good. The accent, the mannerisms. All excellent. The best portrayal of Diana I've ever seen. She literally becomes Diana. It's quite spooky!

The criticism is nonsense if anything you leave this show having empathy and can see reason for ALL sides. This cast did a marvelous job.

One of my favorite series. I enjoyed this season. The casting for Camilla, Diana, the first prime minister and prince Phillip was so on point. Actually I think prince Phillip as Johnathan Pryce was even my favorite. The beginning of episode 2 with him was hilarious and it felt like real Phillip to me.

I think Johnathan Pryce responded to that question perfectly. The arguments being made against The Crown remind me of the arguments US politicians used to make against violent video games, all of whom it seemed to be lost upon that video games have age ratings and it's up to parents to decide. If you're somebody who takes this show so seriously that you treat it as fact, don't watch it, it's clearly not made for you, but don't berate the people who enjoy it for what it is, a drama, not a documentary.

Jonathan is right. Most of the criticism came from people who have not even seen the show. Considering it all, all portrayals were very flattering, especially PM John Major, who was one of the first to criticize the series.

I have a problem with people who think the Crown is bad because some bits aren't accurate or the facts are stretched to move the story along. I have that problem because never once were we promised, by any of the people involved in the show, that this would be a perfectly factual recreation of the lives of the Royal Family. In fact, they promised something completely different: a fictionalised dramatisation. Many shows about historical figures have adopted this angle, because it gives the directors and writers a lot more creative space. It's not a new technique, and we shouldn't criticise the show based on a misunderstanding.

I think it is clearly a dramatization of the events that happened. The outstanding production values inputted into the series (acting, styling, language and poetry of dialogue) are extremely admirable. I think if there is anything that I can personally get from it is the truth that people in high places are human -- and the most challenging ones are those who have to commit to a higher sense of duty. That struggle between personal indulgence and duty is what makes these people human, how they respond to it, and how they move from it are what makes them bigger than just symbols. The Trailer says it all: ""No institution is beyond reproach, and no member of it either. The high standards we in the monarchy are held to by the public must be the same benchmark to which we hold ourselves personally. If we can't admit the errors of our past, what hope for reconciliation can there be?" In my opinion, it doesn't show just show the challenges that the RF face, it also shows the strength they need to face those challenges -- individually and as a family. That's just my opinion.

I have watched everything Imelda Staunton has done, except the Harry Potter films. She is excellent in EVERYthing.. I plan to binge watch this tonight! Lesley Manville is another one.. wow... great cast. Jonathan Pryce and Dominick West.. and Elizabeth Debicki looks so much like Diana...

The casting of this new season is spotty. The woman playing Diana is eerily good, Johnny Lee Miller as Major was spot on. I will always love Lesley Manville in anything. But Staunton as QE2 and Pryce as Philip were miscast. I feel like it went from brilliance with Claire Foy, passible with Olivia Coleman and terrible with Staunton who is a good actress but all I saw was Dolores Umbridge with Elizabeth’s hair. She was thoroughly unlikeable all season. Charles comes off better than her, honestly, even with these ludicrous storylines where he’s trying to get her to abdicate. I also found it particularly cruel to insinuate that Elizabeth and Philip were barely tolerating each other, when all accounts say they had a pretty stable, happy marriage, despite his alleged infidelities and their different interests.

I LOVE these interviews where 90% of what I hear is the presenter talking non stop and over the people interviewed,
