Lyrics:
[The Unwilling God]

I see my blood, and know what I must do
And hear his voice with hatred burning through

Was I a terrible father?
Did I allow this slaughter?
I know I mustn't falter
I cannot let this stand
I will not let him take my throne
The seeds of his death have been sown
And with mercy for my own
I hope you will understand

[The Lord Solar]

One thousand worlds lay conquered at my feet,
Brought to their knees by my unrelenting fleet

And when we should have persevered,
My soldiers had embraced their fears;
The unknown space kept that them here;
Ventured not beyond his light
My dream now lifeless; cold and dead
Had we gone forth, they would have fled;
I dreamt of a war beyond the stars,
Now I weep into the night

[The Imperial Regeant]

I stand the lord of a broken empire
This was not what my father had desired

My time to rest is over,
From all the darkest corners;
The weight upon my shoulders;
I shall not let it fall
I have re-dawned my armor
To some, I am a martyr;
I live to serve my father
Until I fall once more.

[Future Heroes]

And since our great empire's birth
Great men have come and gone;
Their blood runs proudly through our veins
Their courage still remains
We will suffer through any pain,
And proudly embrace certain death;
We'll serve this great Imperium;
While our bodies still draw breath

By the Emperor's graces, I hope you all enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed working with String on it. A different vocal style than what I'm used to singing, but I think it turned out really well. I'm a relatively new addition to the team but I'm so pumped to continue working with String and the rest of the team to keep making these kickass songs.

The Emperor protects!

“The Unwilling God” god that’s one hell of a name for the Emperor, the unwilling God-Emperor of Mankind.

“The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush his achievement and remove all record of his very existence. From that defeat there is no recovery. That is the meaning of victory.”
—Lord Macharius

The original song is about a normal soldier (canon fodder), patriot that gives himself to his russian motherland under Ivan the Terible, Peter the Great, and Stalin. In the last part he expreses his love for motherland and that he will give his life for it. Stringstorm's version is about servants of the Imperium, the Emperor, Macharius and Guilliman, and the last part shows that all humans from a imperial commisar to worker on an agrii world are all great servants of Imperium that give their life away for it. Truly a great choice of lyrics, keep it up StringStorm :D

I have failed, not only my very own sons but my imperium i sacrificed so much to build, malcador and mankind. Imprisoned upon this golden prison of death losing more of my sanity by the second through the millennias.
Will i be better?
will i be redeemed?
Will my mind be not scattered enough to attown both my sins and my wayward sons?
Malcador....why must i not have you now...when I'm at my lowest.

"Was I a terrible father?" Even as a loyalist, and despiser of the forces of Chaos and their lies, yes. Yes, you were shitty father Emps.

Here's how I imagine the meaning behind some of the lyrics:

For the first part, "Unwilling God", it's pretty obvious it is referencing the Emperor of Mankind. In my opinion, his lyrics are directly told from the siege of Terra, during his fight against Horus, as I will elaborate on it:

"I see my blood" could possibly suggest he is seeing his own wounds inflicted by Horus, or referencing Horus since he is his son, so his blood proprely speaking

"And know what I must do'' probably means he has to end this fight, finish off Horus.
''And hear his voice, with hatred burning through'' again does point the character he is pointing would be Horus, who's been corrupted by Chaos, expressing all negativity from it.

''Was I terrible a terrible father?" Obviously point big E reflecting on his past decision, to understand why and how his sons turned to Chaos, rejecting humanity.

"Did I allow this slaughter" could means many things: the countless deaths happening from the siege or before against Chaos or how I would like to imagine, the emperor viewing his other son, Sanguinis, lifeless on the floor at the same time as he is thinking from the previous line.

"I know I musn't falter" could mean the emperor recalling his duty, his role, his responsabilities for mankind

"I cannot let it stand" the same thing as the previous line, but again, I like to imagine at this very sentence, we see Ollanius Pius throwing himself in front of Horus to try to protect the Emperor, the later, this bravery gave him enough resolve to go against Horus, his favorite son.

"I will not let him take my throne" again referencing his battle against Horus, now with resolve to finish him off for good.

"The seeds of his death have been sown" could mean he did finally put out Horus misery, and it is already too late to comeback, as Chaos pretty much took a toll on the imperium, lots of loyalist turned to traitors, etc.

"And with Mercy for my own" could maybe mean he accepted the fact he made mistakes (about his doubt of why his sons turned against him) and want to be redempt from them, or maybe he could mean to spare the rest of the imperium, humankind, from chaos degeneracy, a plea to save them. I can imagine this scene where he is on his knees, holding Horus in his arms for a dramatic effect.

"I hope you'll understand" could either mean he is speaking to Horus, metaphorically (as Big E banished his existence from the fight), or the rest of mankind or the other traitors, from the previous statement of mercy. During the scene and later with the instrumentals, I like to imagine him, being carried away from the ship directly to the palace heavily wounded, everyone around crying, the custodes and Dorn in tears, until he is connected to the golden throne and that's how the instrumentals ends on it.

I'm too lazy to develop the rest but yeah, props to Stringstorm for giving lot of meaning and depth for each lyrics.
