Freddie Mercury's Death Story

On November 24th, 1991, Freddie Mercury died in his home in London. In this video, we'll answer the question of how did Freddie Mercury die. Freddie Mercury's real name was Farrokh Bulsara. He was born on an island of Zanzibar in 1946. Freddie mercury was 45 years old when he died.

A musical prodigy, who could play anything and sing anything, Farrokh Bulsara (Freddie Mercury's real name) was in the spotlight from early childhood… but not for his musical talents. Freddie Mercury was born with a genetic dental condition that left him with four extra teeth. He was teased by his peers and was shy and quiet. Except for when he was performing on stage.

In 1964, at the age of 17 years old, Freddie Mercury and his family moved to London. And for a 17 year-old Freddie, it was a headfirst dive into “the swinging sixties”. Freddie was known for throwing the most outrageous, wild and lavish parties in the entire industry.

In 1970, a decade after The Beatles, Freddie Mercury formed Queen. For over 20 years, Freddie Mercury, Brian Many, John Deacon and Roger Taylor were the powerhouse of British rock… until late 1991, when Freddie died of AIDS.

Freddie contracted HIV in 1981 or 1982, and it was not until 1987, when he learnt about his diagnosis. But it was already too late. Why did Freddie Mercury die? Here's the answer — HIV had been slowly destroying Freddie’s white blood cells for years. Those white blood cells act as the human body’s shield against diseases. The fewer of them were remaining in his blood, the weaker his immune system was becoming.

Eventually, Freddie Mercury’s immune system collapsed leaving him completely unprotected from deadly diseases. This is when his HIV turned into the final stage - AIDS. And since that moment, his death was just a matter of time, as there was no effective treatment up until 1996.

One day before his death, Freddie Mercury issued a statement to the press and public confirming that he indeed had AIDS. This brought an enormous amount of attention to the disease. He raised AIDS and HIV awareness in an era when much of the discussion was taboo, yet the epidemic was just around the corner.

The only person next to Michael Jackson who I’ve ever seen who can easily command an entire stadium of people easily when on stage. Legend.

freddie mercury along with the rest of queen – brian may, john deacon, and roger taylor, are the reasons why i got inspired and started to play instruments. they made me appreciate classical and rock music. during my darkest days, their music helped me to cope and move forward. i am really grateful for them. queen will always be legends!

Sad fact: On this exact date 11-24-1991, Eric Carr (Kiss drummer) passed away as well.
His death was overshadowed. May Freddie and Eric Rest In Peace! 🙏🏻

2:39 Freddie didn’t just form Queen. And he didn’t change his name until I think 1970. Here’s how he got into Queen:

Freddie was friends with Tim Staffel, who was in a band called Smile, with Roger Taylor, and Brian May. In 1968, Tim left the band, and Freddie joined. In about 1970, he changed the band name to Queen, and he changed his own name to Freddie Mercury. In 1971, the band found bassist John Deacon, after finding 3 other bassists before, and John Deacon got in the band.
