Weekly Workout Training Volume Recommendations -
* Beginners (under 6 months): A range of 10-12 sets per muscle group
* Intermediate (6 months - 2 years): A range of 12-16 sets per muscle group
* Advanced (2+ years): A range of 16-20 sets per muscle group
* What I Usually Personally Do, Prefer & Continue Seeing Progress From After 10+ Years: A range of 20-30 sets per muscle group
These are all very solid base frequency recommendations to reference for your weekly training volume per muscle group based on your experience level. Just keep in mind everyone is different and requires personalization for their overall long-term fitness success!
I will always stand by the necessity of personalization. If what you’re currently doing isn’t helping you make progress on your fitness journey, that doesn’t even necessarily mean you are doing something wrong. The workout frequency distribution per week will all depend on your programming layout, specific focus points and personal preferences.
