I've been making magic cookie bars since I was a teenager in the 1970's. These days I make make them for holiday gifts.

Those are so good. It's hard to believe but the original recipe for these cookies is at least 50 years old. And they were called magic cookie bars. I still make them from time to time, but not very often, because I can't keep away from them when I make them. And I refuse to give them all away. Haha. BUT GUESS WHAT IM TAKING TO THE NEXT POT LUCK! 😁🥰😍

Growing up in the 80’s we called this “no bowl slice”- no mixing so no bowls needed!- it’s delicious!
Edit- but we used to put the condensed milk on top so it caramelised and thickened a bit!

Pro Tip: They hold together a lot better if you put the sweetened condensed milk as the top layer instead of underneath everything. I make these every Christmas and that's what I've always done.
