This is why you need a good chemist to understand what and how actually chemicals work. Not self named estheticians or just cosmetic lovers. Thank you Michelle ♥️

Retinoids are a staple in my day and night routines and I thought I couldn’t use it with Vitamin C. Nice to know it’s not a hard no! Would love to see your routine using both actives

Hi Michelle, can you do a video on ‘pores’, perhaps their biochemistry, how they work, and common myths surrounding pores on skin, please? Thanks for all the informative content. Keep it up!

I buy bulk ascorbic acid to dechlorinate water for my fish tanks. But it has other uses! After bathing I dissolve a small amount of vitamin C and niacinamide powder in distilled water, (I use a small wasabi/soy sushi dish to do mixing) add a few drops of lanolin oil for ceramides, vitamin E to stabilize the vitamin C, carrot oil for vitamin A, and 7-12 pumps of Equate brand CeraVe. Stir it until its mixed and has a serum feel to it, and apply it all over my body. It's inexpensive, super fresh and only adds a few minutes to my after bath routine.🌱

Thank you for a wonderful video! Very informative! A couple of years ago I heard a dermatologist talk about the ABC of skincare. “A” for vitamin A or tretinoin, “B” for vitamin B or niacinamide, and “C” for vitamin C. The derm basically the “A” was best and most effective for the skin. I use the first two (A and B) and they work wonderfully. I tried for a few years to use vitamin C and it didn’t do anything for my skin. I made sure I used the ascorbic acid version and tried inexpensive to expensive versions, water based and oil based and didn’t see any change. I’ve seen pretty major changes in my skin with using vitamin A. And vit C can be quite expensive. With the vitamin A my insurance covers it. It’s been well worth it for my skin.

All these reminded me is that I’m too lazy to chase a worth-it Vitamin C skincare. I’ll keep my sunscreen+tretinoin game (and save some cash😉), thank you very much.

Omg I'm so glad this video popped up and debunked the 'ascorbic acid decreases UV protection' myth for me. I'd stopped wearing it under sunscreen but now I'll wear it with gusto!

Could you do some videos on nail care chemistry? I feel like that doesn’t get talked about much.

Love these videos :) Michelle, can you do one about key hair product ingredients? Like - what is it in "volumising" products that actually gives your hair volume?

I would love you to make Part 2 of this! Ascorbic acid is not for me, and help to navigate Vitamin C esters (and product recommendations) would be so helpful.
