Japanese citizens protests on Tuesday after the country’s PM visit to the US on Monday that intended to further cooperate in military aspects between the two nations.
As the Japan’s Cabinet approved a record increase in military spending and eased its postwar ban on lethal weapon exports at the end of 2023, there is fear that the Japanese government is heading down the path to war.
Apart from military cooperation, next-generation computer chips were also being discussed, as Kishida mentioned Rpidus, a government-backed Japanese chip foundry venture, is partnering with a US company in research and development of next-generation chips.
Kishida and his wife visited the White House on Tuesday evening before his official visit and state dinner on Wednesday. Kishida will be the fifth world leader honored by Biden with a state dinner since he took office in 2021.
