I have a diary card I fill in daily for myself and therapist, and on it I have a section that says "What I did well today" which is really helpful cause it reminds me that I am capable of doing things well even when my depression doesn't make me feel like it.

I also think self talk really helps me my anxiety used to be very difficult for me to handle and slowly but gradually it has improved

I also find it very hard. Sometimes I'm not sure whether I am just too sensitive and I would feel the same when I just had a normal bad day. I am unsure when it is ok to worry or feel down and to what extent. Thanks for your video, I will definitely work on that in therapy and I didn't really notice that this is actually a huge struggle for me :)

A few days ago I called my friend and was talking to her about how I thought I was relapsing into my depression, saying how I felt kind of sluggish and lazy over the past day or two. She said, “you know you can do that for a few days; that’s normal”. It finally clicked in my head and I thought, oh? normally, stability?!. I haven’t felt that in years.

Me and my CAMHS psychologist worked on defining what o wanted my happiness to look like and how that would fit into my life now. Two videos in one day? This is a great question! Thanks for this Kati 💕

my therapist gave me a project to help with my low self esteem. Basically you write a bunch of positive characteristics about yourself down, or in my case, have people write them for you cuz you can’t think of any. Rip them up and put them in a jar. Every morning and every night, pick a piece of paper out of the jar and read it. It’s a nice way to start and end your day on a positive note. I recommend this to anyone struggling with self worth like I was and still am struggling with!!

Thank you! This was so helpful! I've struggled with depression since I was about 9, I've always found it hard to separate the things I do because im depressed and the things I do because I'm human.

I struggle with this a lot, and am coming out of a ten-year depression. What I found the most helpful was not remembering what my normal WAS, but deciding what I want it to be from now on. Thanks for the bid!

Hi Kati, I love the message here. I say to myself "notice that, " whenever an anxious or depressive feeling comes up (or just any feeling in general). I've been doing so for a couple months now and its made me a lot happier!

I've been feeling really low for the past few days and feel lonely as if there's really no one in this world (atleast in my country) who can understand my pain. My anxiety runined my life. I can't study the course like and do the things I love just because of my anxiety esp social anxiety and my lack of communication skills and social understanding. Recently I've been trying to form a question and an idea in my mind that explains why I feel this way. And that question is in the title of this video . What is normal. I was really happy that finally someone consider it ... decided to answer it in detail and atleast establish that a thought like this exists. I felt so much relief now after watching this video and so much included . I sincerely thank you for your clarification.
