The 2024 Subaru Outback Onyx boasts a cool name inspired by geology, or a hip-hop band, or maybe a Pokemon. This model sits between the mid-trim Touring model and the leather-wrapped Limited. The Onyx models stand out thanks to the blacked-out badging and darker wheels. It looks close to the rugged Wilderness model but without all the extra outdoorsy garb.
Those unfamiliar with the Outback range might appreciate a few of its unique qualities. The Subaru brand loves to tout its go-anywhere capabilities, and the Outback manages with 220 mm of ground clearance and standard all-wheel-drive. That combo should help it conquer the majority of off-road conditions. Sure, it might not fare well at rock climbing or deep river fording, but it will tackle deep snow and treacherous cottage routes with confidence.
Have you driven or cross-shopped the Subaru Outback? Let us know what you thought of it in the comments below!
