Several years ago when I needed to take care of some "soft spots" in my 1983 O'Day 19. I used a very similar technique. It was my first time doing that kind of repair. It has held up all these years.

We've kept the O'Day 19 because it is easy to trailer and quick to launch. When we get even older (we're just 71 and 70), it may be the boat we use more frequently.

But we also have an '88 Capri 22 that has been our primary boat since 2010. It is in need of a few cosmetic repairs.

At the beginning of Covid along with me retiring, we bought a 2004 Catalina 310. My wife's balance is not great and got worse after she broke her ankle in 2014. She likes the idea of the stability of the larger boat. It has been undergoing a proper refit updating the electronics, plumbing, and thorough cleaning while the major floor and side panels are out of the way. The boat is in my side yard so working on it is convenient.

While looking for ideas for a hard dodger, I came upon your channel. I like your workmanship and detailed video of how you do things.

And yes, I have a few repairs to do on this boat, too. That you for showing your work!

At 1:57, was that a bottle of vodka there? If I faced a job like that I would have a bottle of vodka there. :)
