Good review and reasoning, Ben.👍👍😎🇺🇸 I dont get the diesel thing. Higher intial $$s, Higher fuel, higher oil changes. Naaah, I’ll skip that.

Yes. I had an at4x on order before the msrp markup. I drove a gladiator rubicon and that was it for me. I love it and one of my favorite vehicles that I’ve ever owned

As an owner of a Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel... go for it if you're intending to do a build. Its a great truck stock but nothing that'll light the world on fire. The EcoDiesel has the 3.73s... which are fine for 33s/35s. 37s.... you're right on that edge. I'd say do a re-gear if you go that large (and at that point just do 38s). If you really want to be shocked... Banks Derringer and Pedal Monster will blow a person away. Pair it with a good pair of after market shocks, steering stabilizer, and a quality lift kit (HIGHLY recommend the Clayton kits) and it'll also shock you how well it can ride and handle. And I say that as a formerr Colorado ZR2 owner which is easily the best handling mid-size truck stock.
The diesel will absolutely save you on fuel cost. Even with upwards of $1.00-1.30 price gap (though its only 60 cents here right now) the fuel economy is so much better it more than makes up for it. Where you'll lose that cost advantage is on oil changes, they're much more expensive on the diesel. DEF... not really an issue. I only have to worry about it about every 2500-3000 miles. The way I see it... its an engine upgrade. Its way more satisfying to drive than the gas engine, regardless of the fuel economy benefit.
From your channels perspective? Honestly you already have the TRX and Raptor. I'm partial to the JT and the Silverado ZR2. But if I thought which truck might actually pull in a different audience or more views? Tundra TRD Pro. Even though personally I think that's a highly flawed truck from an off-road perspective (no front locker/LSD, no recovery hooks, very poor approach angle). Toyota has far and a way the most fanatical fanbase in the off-road scene. Uh... I could go on about my negative experiences wheeling my ZR2 and Rubi with Toyota guys but you'll pull views for sure.

I would do a pros & Cons list to include items like : Insurance $. MPG. Warranty length. Warranty Coverage. Trade -in / Re-Sale value. Theft Ranking = Pandora Security as part of dealer prep BEFORE you drive it off the lot or pre-arranged appt. straight from the dealer to the car alarm shop. 100% coverage of Clear PPF on either hood for FULL stone chip protection. ( And no ugly seam line 12" from the front lip )

The gladiator would be an excellent add to the collection. There is such a vast array of aftermarket products that the options are endless and you could have a lot of fun content. I will be buying one as soon as I can afford one, but I have rented a couple for different trips and I can contest that two car seats, two adults, and a smaller dog can fit….a tad tight, but was plenty comfortable on a 6 hr drive.

This would be the truck to really use off road-no concern about dents, scratches, mistakes. Great for narrow trails and switchbacks, a terror at 70 mph.

Go ahead and grab one. I love mine. It’s the best vehicle that I’ve ever owned.

Yes, the diesel comes with 3.73 gears. I’ve had both a Gladiator Rubicon with the diesel and a JLUR with the diesel as well. I only had 35s on the Gladiator, but it felt exact the same with the gearing as the 33s did because of all the torque.

I almost got to buy my 1st Brand New car in 1988. I was trading in my 1983 Merc Lynx for a 1988 Merc Tracer. And then I called my insurance co. from the dlr. with the VIN info. My new full covg. rate per mo. was going to be 1/2 of what the car payment per mo. was going to be. Gas $ ? And then right after that I got my work hours cut back for about a mo. because the security co. lost a client and had to pick up a new one. Which would have meant a parent loan to make the very 1st payment a full payment.

Would enjoy a long term review on a Gladiator from you. I’m looking at one now to trade my JL in on.

Probably more aftermarket parts for the JT Gladiator v TRX since it shares a lot of JL Wrangler parts. Taillights are diff between the JT & JL and as about 6 months ago I didn't see any co. rushing to make taillight guards for the JT = Go off-roading at your t.l. expense.

By itself ehh. But if you’re doing a build with it and some cool crawling that would be cool.

Well either one would be more Off -Road capable than the Volvo LOL

Great vehicle, I think a bit overpriced. I had a Unlimited Sport wrangler 6 years ago and miss it. I’d like a gladiator but they’re no where to be found and dealers are being ridiculous in NC. Shame. I had one lined up last year and they couldn’t wait a short 24 hours (really not even a full 24 hours) for my money to clear. Was going to pay cash.
