It's even better that the $200 dress!

My mom stitched her own dresses back in the day and now I get why she rolls her eyes everytime she sees an expensive dress that is ridiculously simple to stitch. I get that the designers, employees have to get paid but some brands are ridiculously priced even if the material is sustainably sourced.
Also, you look stunning

Your finished dress looks even lovelier than the one that you took your inspiration from.

This is the first thrift flip I've seen where I genuinely love the outcome and think its better than the before. Its so tasteful and feminine but its still casual enough to wear at a sunny day at the park!

Young lady I've sewed for 50 yrs. You have a great talent. Keep it up.

Unlike MOST of this genre, you have technical skills. That is beautifully finished. Did you completely recut the skirt portion, or were you able to mostly leave it as was?

Wow! That's inspirational. You've actually sew entirely new dress only using the fabric of another piece.

I definitely prefer your dress to the other dress, and that’s the beauty of making your own clothing! You can make them bespoke to your perfect measurements and add details that make them unique and much better like the little bow ties on this dress. Wonderful interpretation of this dress!

I just sent this vid to a friend of mine. I'm sure she will like it. She does a lot of inventive sewing and we both are Thrift Store haunters. Thanks 😁

Great eye and fashion sense! It’s really good to know that some young people are skilled in crafts that are not as popular anymore! Love your dress!

You did a beautiful job with this! Amazing!!! I love to see and it warms my heart to see young people discover sewing. The ability to sew can save you a lot of money because you can repair your clothing, rework items and make new items from fabric as clothing or even curtains pillows and home items.

Girl this is such an inspiration!

Idk why, but bolts of fabric are so intimidating. But starting with larger dress makes it feel more attainable. The spirit of a frock is already there...we’re just discovering what’s beneath the surface. 🤷‍♀️

Talent! Impressive!

My mom was really a seamstress. She made all our clothes growing up. Old school - she learned to sew on a Singer treadle machine.
