Read on for the ingredients and recipe for this delicious dish.
To print a complete recipe with instructions and measurements, check my website:
Ingredients:
1 lb NY strip or rib-eye steak sliced thin (454 g)
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil divided
3 cloves garlic sliced
1/4 tsp or more hot crushed pepper
28 oz can San Marzano or peeled tomatoes (794 g)
1 tsp dried oregano
Fresh basil
Directions:
In a large frying pan add 2 tbsp oil and on high heat sear meat on both sides but not fully cook through.
Remove meat and add 2 tbsp oil, garlic, and chili flakes to the frying pan careful not to burn the garlic.
Add tomatoes and oregano. I crush them by hand.
Let it cook for about 15 minutes, place steak with drippings in sauce and cook for another 5 minutes until oil comes up.
Serve with your favorite shape pasta or with nonna Iolanda’s salad. (Recipe on the channel) My favorite way is in a loaf of crusty Italian bread where the sauce moistens the Mollica and the outside is still crunchy. Now that’s Italian!! 🇮🇹
Buon appetito!
