This song is the epitome of 70s power pop. It virtually defines the genre. It was music written and played by the younger brothers of the classic sixties groups. You can hear the chiming melodic sense of the Beatles, the sunny harmony of the Beach Boys, and the crunchy power chords of the Who and the Small Faces. It has it all.

This lesson emphasizes well how what appears to be a simple song is actually a masterpiece.

Greatest opening guitar riff of any song. Greatest closing guitar riff of any song.

I read an interview with Eric Carmen who basically said the same thing that the guy in the video said: (to paraphrase) "I listened to a lot of great classic rock songs and combined them to make Go All The way".

IMO your guitar tutorial vids are best on the internet as far as quality and clarity and commentary. And believe me I’ve watched a LOT of tutorials. Thanks for the lessons!

I agree, " about it being to much, ! Its like he took multiple riffs from other songs. Although how could you not love it? Brilliant recording, so catchy cool. Thanks for the review /Lesson. Jim K.

The most action-packed pop song I've ever heard. I tried to figure it out back in the day, and threw my hands up! Thanks for this lesson. Eric Carmen was musician enough to play this song on guitar, sing it, and chew gum at the same time. I saw him do it.

Once again Andy you're right on the money; as always, and so accurate. If you want it to sound just right then it has to be done just right. Different versions of songs are not wrong but some songs cannot be altered. I've always loved the Raspberries....and I always look forward to your tutorials...just the best ever. Keep rocki'n.

Thank you for posting this video! I’m not a guitarist, but I was a big fan of the raspberries back in the day, and I appreciate it.

The opening d shape A chord your playing has these notes low to high a, e a c#, at the 12th fret an a shape a chord had these notes low to high a, e, a, c#, the exact same notes way easier to play, on thicker strings more tone, I teach guitar for a living, awesome song thx for doing this. McCartney's dad was a part time jazz musician and it shows in McCartneys chord progressions, Eric is mimicking rock jazz standard chord changes it's awesome and versatile

I can’t even play a guitar, but I have always loved this song - it never got old. I couldn’t explain it actually - but watching I understand why. To me, it’s one of the best pop/rock singers ever produced. Timeless.

Thanks for the great tutorial. One of my all time favorites and perhaps Raspberries' best song.

Got to learn this. When I was 12 it seemed so much easier on air guitar
